Mistakes have differing degrees. Violations of known rules and professional ethical imperatives are not acceptable. No Board of Bar Overseers would accept it, even from a newly minted attorney, without a reprimand or suspension. And yes, ignorance of the law/rules is no excuse, and yes, we should hold House representatives to a similar standard.

It is an indisputable fact that Dems are judged more harshly than Repubs, by the media and public. It’s not fair and we don’t like it, but it’s just reality. It’s also an indisputable fact that when Dems fail to heed this, they lose, bigly, as evidenced by 2016 where one of several factors that lost it for Clinton was her email server. It’s not fair and we don’t like it, but it’s just reality.
