Dem Leader Bars GOPers Who Refuse To Wear Masks From Joining Committee Meetings

They can “get away” with this because no one can prove that THEIR germs infected someone. They will always take the most effective route that allows them to do the least amount of thinking.

Would be the smart choice. Let him hang around for his stupid July 4th stuff so he gets his big bang-bang thingies in the sky, then nudge him out and bring in someone who appears more moderate to stem the bleeding.

It appears Clyburn doesn’t want to join a death cult.

This is what happens when an older Black gentleman reaches his limits because the grandkids are running amok.

OT / AKA “Getting all your stories straight.” Dems haven’t been briefed, just Rs. No, that’s not suspicious at all.

Great. Let’s politicize the contracted murder of American and Allied Soldiers.

WTF.

It’s my one-party party, and I’ll lie if I want to…

Five’ll get you ten that the “unusual” gang of House Pubbies will be on Fox News the next few days yelling about how it’s all Obama’s fault, the Dems are the real traitors, and Trump has everything under control.

ETA. The Senate GOP may be a harder sell, but the feral shitpossums in the House will support Trump even if he sold Alaska back to the Russians and threw in Hawaii as a bonus.

And refuse to allow any committee member to participate in person while wearing a mask.

I admire Congressman Clyburn’s patience. I would have thrown them out the first time they endangered others in the room. And if they don’t like it, they can take it up with the CDC, Fauci, the House physician, and every public health expert that I know of.

Seriously? These people have politicized a fucking pandemic. They will politicize absolutely everything and have.

Azar would not even answer whether he had recommended wearing a mask to the Don of Corona.

Good call by Rep. Clyburn. If they won’t lead by example make an example out of them.

But they’re supposed to be the pro-military party.

I’m wondering if that R-only conference this afternoon is because they’re about to absolutely tear into him.

This has massive implications for the future, if there is one, of his presidency.

Heh. He has a “DC Statehood” mask!

And thus turns off the die hard Trump loyalists.

The scenario presents several interesting quandaries for the GOP. First the tantalizing out of reach dynamic that Biden is actually not a particularly strong candidate in any other year. But I don’t see, with only 4 months to go, that they have any solution to put together a competitive package to run against him.

And a big part of that is another quandary…how do you get Trump out the door, AND muzzle him so he doesn’t start grievance ranting nonstop and further depressing GOP turnout? Because even giving him a pardon, Trump Org is ravaged without the constant stream of revenue that being President has been providing to keep it afloat. And his NPD will not let him sit quietly on the sideline.

And this may be bizzaro thinking because I’ve been living under Trump’s administration for far too long…but the most optimal solution is for Trump to die. That lets Pence and the GOP avoid the pardon problem, it provides a “rally around the fallen leader” narrative that would be invaluable…all the bad news tied to Trump, evaporates. And Biden is the type of guy who would find it hard to push back on a “fallen leader” narrative.

That would require Pence to grow a pair of gonads, of any type, but that is not happening ever.

Tell me more. No, really. Someone tell me what the hell they talked about and what was said.

Probably too late to save the presidency, but not necessarily to save the Senate and be able to undermine Biden from there.

I think that would be their calculation, that if they put all energy into saving the Senate, having someone at the top who at least isn’t a drag on the down-ballot makes it feasible.
