Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin pushed back against conservatives’ complaints that the Pentagon’s efforts to promote diversity in its recruiting campaign was somehow emasculating or other undermining the U.S. military.
Thank you, @crismcabrera, for this well deserved context. Just magnificent!
“It is not too soft. It will never be too soft,” Austin told CNN in a pre-taped interview that aired on Memorial Day. “I think our adversaries would like to capitalize on talking points like that, you know, the Chinese, the Russians.”
And I like how Sec Def. Austin basically called Cruz a Russian/Chinese stooge.
Please, let someone of import say something like this: “The real pansies are those who whine about diversity instead of putting their heads down and doing their jobs.”
Cruz speaking about “pansies.” Like lying and hypocrisy, projection is just something they have the ability to ignore even though they know it’s a constant feature of theirs.
Most women, non whites, and LGTB in the military have had their valor suppressed historically. Indeed, even presumably straight white males have been swiftboated for daring to be in the Democratic Party. B-17 pilots flying missions with 5 - 10% losses got to like the Tuskeegee Airmen who never lost a bomber to German fighters. The ethnic military groups formed in WWII had consistently great records in combat.
