”…families of 9/11 victims threatening to protest his appearance at events commemorating the 20th anniversary of the attacks…
…the prospect that the president might be picketed on the eve of 9/11 memorial services, just days after the final, chaotic withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan."
I guess “Democrats in Disarray!” was just too 2020?
If safely airlifting almost 125,000 men, women, and children just wasn’t good enough for scandal-starved spectators pining for the four-year adrenaline rush of a former abuser’s daily screaming, slapping, and death threats, then they might want to seek professional help.
Wake me up when people start protesting Bush, Cheney, and the other Republican ghouls who marched us into the Afghanistan quagmire — after willfully ignoring every 9/11 warning that ever came across their desks — and the GOP mobsters who cheered them on for 20 years.
Good, now the truth will be know, and since we just left Afghanistan, we will have the resources to invade the true culprit, 20 years after the fact…
Yeah I’m really tired of the “chaos” narrative for Afghanistan. It’s Afghanistan - when has it not been chaotic? And when has the end of a 20 year occupation ever so successfully gotten people out?
I am really just gobsmacked that the left and left-leaning journalism keeps the rightwing framing on the end of that damn war W started to no avail whatsoever.
Seriously, we should have invaded Pakistan - they are the ones who support the terrorists. They sheltered Al Qaida and Osama. They are still sheltering terrorists.
True, but they also have nukes, which would complicate that idea. They don’t have a delivery system for direct retaliation against the US, but on a local battlefield all you need is one fanatic in a pickup truck.
I hear you but Pakistan is a Commonwealth country and that might cause a few other member countries to have a sad, including England and Canada. The other thing is, what most of us know of the country is not all that meets the eye. There’s actually a lot of quite liberal minded young people these days. It’s a big mix with many wonderful surprises along with very ugly ones.
