It’s not denial on my part.
It’s informed knowledge of both candidates, the accuracy of polling, the opinions of people I trust, and my own 50-year involvement with national political campaigns and elections.

But if I had a dollar for every ‘he’d never do that’, or ‘he couldn’t get away with that’ I’ve heard from people in politics that yes, he went right ahead and did, and got away with doing, I’d never need to work another day in my life.

I’m seeing similarities between Trump and my attempts to get points across to my mother’s husband. Both men are entering dementia. The same kind of plaintive comments that everyone is unfair to them.
And for icing on the cake, I detest my mother’s husband as much as I do Trump. Everyone is so unfair to me! Wait. Does that mean…?
