D.C.’s Resigned Federal Prosecutor Faced Political Heat From Case Of Trump Foe McCabe | Talking Points Memo

In the run-up to former U.S. Attorney for the District Columbia Jessie Liu’s resignation from the Trump administration earlier this month, she was under intense political pressure, according to new reports.

Damn, and she’s like a government 8.

Isn’t this the one who was on the transition team? Think about the level of loyalty being required when that isn’t enough. (Also, think about the deliberate ratf*cking when you tell someone to leave their old job to facilitate the new job you’re giving them, and then withdraw the offer of the new job. )

This is what happens when you fail to pivot…

Not sure what the most disturbing part of this story is. Executive branch decisions driven by wife of Supreme Court spouse? Attorney General punishes US Attorney for not being able to get a grand jury to indict Andrew “Ham Sandwich” McCabe? President* proves once again that he’s a vindictive jerk by trashing federal government employee’s career?

It’s just so fascinating to be living in mid-1930’s Germany right now, watching as the slow purges happen of the loyalists who aren’t extreme enough, but how it happens just slowly enough that the Overton Window can keep up, making the extremes more and more normal.

Liu needs to testify. Soon.

The House Committee on [fill in the blank] needs to start / resume subpoenaing witnesses. Now.

This is an obvious case of abuse of the government and blatant politicization by Trump’s personal lawyer Barr and other right wing hacks. It’s getting worse and worse as the Trump regime demands the AG’s office be used as his personal harassment front.

Barr needs to be disbarred, convicted and imprisoned. He can room in the slammer with Roger Stone

to root out members of the “deep state.”

Sounds a whole lot like McCarthyism to me.

That nonsense needs to get squashed.

Now.

I’m wondering if the SECOND grand jury “no billed” the indictment. And who is the accuser of Beer Boofer Brett Kavanaugh the shitgibbon wanted charged? Did I miss that 18 months ago?

If you haven’t noticed, the purge has been ongoing since the beginning of the administration. It’s only accelerated since the acquittal in the Senate, but it’s nothing new.

No reason to believe things will change, it’s only getting worse from here.

If trump’s re-elected, I fully expect to see all federal people, careerists and appointees, have to sign NDAs and personal loyalty oaths to trump.

No surer way to destroy your would-be political empire than by eating your own young and promoting your most venal and incompetent. Please proceed, GOP.

If Nate’s 538 would go down to below 35% Approval, then we would be like most Democratic Republics:

Concerned with fascism

As it is, Trump is at 43.3%

The fact that this figure is this high is on us.

Apparently everyone’s crazy uncles and aunts outnumber the sane, concerned people.

But that would just get in the way of what the American People care most about, passing health care bills that will go nowhere. Or so the Dem leadership tells us.

As someone once said, the only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

According to a New York Times report Sunday, Liu’s relationship with Barr grew strained in September, after two teams of prosecutors failed to deliver an indictment against McCabe, who was found in an internal DOJ leak investigation to have lacked “candor.”

Needs to be stated clearly:
Failing to secure the outcome desired by Trump in an investigation/prosecution is a fireable offense in this administration.

Barr isn’t the only one who needs to be disbarred, but all DoJ officials who participated in these obviously corrupt and political “investigations”.

Oh, I’ve noticed - we pretty much get a blow-by-blow description of the purge here on TPM.

This needs to get highlighted out to the general public who simply aren’t paying attention or who don’t give a damn (or both). It’s happening under their noses, but it’s all fake news, so why bother?

November can’t come soon enough.

And the Stalinesque Purges continue, while the MSM ignores it all.

Again, have to point to 2018 as the counter.

Our system doesn’t give too many meaningful points for individuals to weigh in, elections are basically it.
