D.C.’s Resigned Federal Prosecutor Faced Political Heat From Case Of Trump Foe McCabe | Talking Points Memo

Please stop with the subpoenas.
Gather as many of the outcasts as possible and have a unannounced press conference.
That way you end Trump’s interference and blow his mind.

100% of the problem.

Wonks don’t save democracies. Ordinary people do. And I do not excuse them in the least. It takes little effort to answer a pollster.

Hopefully it’ll be temporary and reversible. They can replace these career prosecutors with loyalist hacks all they want, but they’re still going to have to get grand juries to indict, judges to allow cases to proceed, and petit juries to convict. Tall order, especially for 3rd rate law school grads.

For now, at least, the system resists, due to its structure, size and conservatism. If Trump gets reelection, god help us.

That’s just PR. We need a legal foundation laid for putting the Orange Menace in jail.

I will grant you this, but then there was a lot of enthusiasm. I’m not seeing it. Yet.

Yeah, but under oath has a hell of a lot more credibility.

You can lie through your teeth in a press conference. Trump does it every time.

Sorry - I don’t have much confidence in pollsters. The only poll that counts is the one that is counted. Words are cheap and it’s been noted time and again that results from exit polls don’t line up credibly with actual vote counts.

I’m not interested in anything that doesn’t have a ballot.

Imagine what will happen to the poor bastard who is supposed to find a way to execute Hillary Clinton.

Police, Prosecutors, Justice Department Officials and Judges who do not adequately intimidate, prosecute, punish and torture the people and corporations that the President and the Trump Organization want should be subject to court-martial and sent to a military prison. They are traitors who are violating the Constitution, disrespecting the presidency, compromising national security and military readiness. Complete, unquestioning, unwavering loyalty and obedience to the President, his Family, the Organization and the Party is essential.

Almost 20 million viewers of the last debate doesn’t indicate that people aren’t engaged and interested.

I have been emphasizing polling on this thread, for my own reasons.

There is a Crazyfication Factor which locks Trump into a minimum, feral Trumper Base of 30% Approval. No action on his part would result in that figure going any lower.

But what would the Trump Regime–as it is constructed now–do with a 538 Trump Approval of 30% coupled with a Disapproval of 65+%?

What would it do? It is a legitimate and necessary question, going forward, given @castor_troy’s correct assessment of the limited options people in this society have.

Polls do matter.

I don’t know that she’s a ‘casualty’…when we win this might be a resume builder.

Or appear to, thanks to the both sides are the same media narrative.

That’s lovely, however:

In 2018, there were 153.07 million people registered to vote in the United States. Although this was an increase from 1996, when 127.66 million people were registered to vote, it’s lower than the peak of 157.6 million registered voters in 2016.

Only for fundraising. They have no ultimate influence on the outcome of the election. The outcome of the election is driven entirely by recorded votes, whether by paper or by electronic indication.

Polls are fine if one wants to gauge interest, but in the end, it’s the ballot that matters.

Well, since you brought the Nazis up before I could…
