Politicians and CEO’s still can’t figure out that their unfiltered thoughts broadcast on social media are career killers.

Makes you wonder how they convinced others of their competence in the first place.

He said he had made a mistake and should have been more sensitive, but denied being racist.
ā€œOn Saturday I created a rift in the CrossFit community and unintentionally hurt many of its members,ā€ he said. ā€œI cannot let my behavior stand in the way of HQ’s or affiliates’ missions". . . Some 1,250 gyms have now severed links with CrossFit.

Shorter Glassman: I’m sorry I cost my friends some $$$. I’m not really sorry about what I said, nor have I found anything resembling a conscience within me.

How dumb do racist white repubs have to be? It’s time for you all to go back in the closet and STFU. (I’m white.)

You could fill a legal pad, single spaced, with the names of prominent white people, or less prominent but nevertheless highly paid, that have lost their jobs because of posting tone deaf or offensive comments to social media, or statements made in public or to the news media. When the hell are people going to figure out they just need to keep their mouths shut unless they are capable of expressing themselves with tact and diplomacy? Sheesh.

Glassman had apologized earlier

Another one for Harry Shearer’s Le Show ā€œApologies Of The Week.ā€

ā€œI’m the President of Tri-Ax Industries. All these black people need to settle down and get a grip!! WTF is the big deal!!??ā€

Three days later:

ā€œI’m sorry.ā€

Three days later:

ā€œI resign.ā€

Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

He forgot the second rule of CrossFit.
The first rule, opposite of the Fight Club, is that you must talk about CrossFit at every opportunity .
The second rule is, " Don’t talk about anything else, lunkhead."

The article didn’t mention that the CEO said during a private Zoom call ā€œWe are not mourning for George Floyd
I don’t think me or any of my staff are. Can
you tell me why I should mourn for him?ā€

Not only is he racist but he’s on the wrong side of history.

If he ever was a member…

ā€œCan you tell me why I should mourn for him? Other than that it’s the white thing to do — other than that, give me another reason,ā€ he asked a Minneapolis gym owner who had questioned why the brand hadn’t posted a statement about the protests across the country after the death of George Floyd.

Thanks for fixing that quote my coffee hadn’t kicked in.

Surprisednotsurprised.

Still. It’s one thing for people to out themselves and realize (or have people make them realize) that there are all kinds of costs to holding and voicing such attitudes. But until/unless there are costs to the system itself that has aided and abetted the holding/voicing of those attitudes, well, we’ll keep right on asking, ā€œHow long, o Lord, how long?ā€

He doesn’t look all that physically fit, but, in addition, if you’re not fit in the head, what’s the point?
