CPAC Chair Says He’d Be ‘Afraid’ For Romney’s ‘Physical Safety’ At Conservative Conference | Talking Points Memo

Conservative Political Action Committee chair Matt Schlapp made an ominous prediction on Sunday about the potential consequences Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) faces from other conservatives for voting to convict and remove President Donald Trump.

Says so much, but nothing we don’t already know.

“This year I would actually be afraid for his physical safety people are so mad at him,” he added.

That tells you far more about your party than it does about Romney.

So, Romney’s head is on a pike?

Sore winners, the whole holy mess of them.

You think some people are mad about how Romney voted? Doesn’t hold a candle to how many people are mad with the way the Senate process was handled/not handled. Criminals all!

How is this not an implicit threat of violence? Despicable even by current GOP standards.

Please proceed, fake conservatives. You’re just making it easier for us. Eventually you’ll only be comprised of corrupt billionaires and angry white men with face tattoos.

Ha ha ha – you think CPAC is angry – wait until you get a load of us in November buddy.

Psychotic insecurity is at the core of modern (fake) conservatism.

The old saying seems to apply that “Democrats hate their base, Republicans fear theirs.”

Translation: Romney has been “cast out” from “The Body” of CPAC for daring to upset DEAR LEADER and CPAC is not responsible if any “follower” decides to “take revenge” for DEAR LEADER.

Is anything more indicative of a CULT than this?

Only if he shows up anywhere the Trump Cult rules the world.

Big tent Conservatives. : )

If someone in your party is fearful that they are risking bodily harm for crossing the president, what does that make your party?

Not even their own fellows are acceptable to them any more if they don’t worship their Left-Hate deity, Donnie Trump.
How blind can Republicans be to the truth?
Avoiding it doesn’t make it go away.
THEY won nothing with Trump but ultimate failure, and now they will ruin their legacy along with their future.

Just another stochastic terrorist. The party is engorged with them, apparently.

I heard on some podcast that the DNC spends most of its pathetic funds on consultants. If true, then crying for the Democrats to run ads about today’s (and tomorrow, and the day after) republican insanity is wasted. Counting on Bloomberg’s money may be our devil’s bargain, but if that’s what it takes to show the perfidy of the republicans, then I’m for it.

The GOP Acquittal by the already loathsome Republican Senators now makes even more sense, in a practical sense:

Fear

Right now, every rationale that GOP Senators have trotted out to (usually FOX-type) interviewers should be recorded, remembered and placed in the context of a cult which not only controls its members with shared internal allegiance, but shared, generated-from-Trump fear
