And there it is. ANY step out of line makes you ‘not a conservative’ to republicans now. The one lesson liberals/Dems need to take away from this whole ordeal is that ALL the GOP and it’s voters are now fully taken over by Post Modern Conservatism. It’s practically a religion built upon right-wing identity politics, and being disingenuous so to win at all cost. There is no more ‘reaching across the aisle’ with them. They must be marginalized and sidestepped by bringing in new voters. They believe all non-right wingers are an ‘enemy’ and they should be treated as bad faith actors.
