“This is not crying wolf. This is the worst rate of rise in cases that we’ve seen in the pandemic in the United States and right now there’s no sign of flattening.”

Looking forward to his replacement by Lou Dobbs.

And still the GOP ignores the warning bells.

Where will this end?

With a Christmas that looks remarkably like the first Passover. I’m afraid.

You know, bodies in the streets. We’re running out of hospital beds in Dallas.

I fail to see why the centrality of McConnell in this entire narrative is overlooked. Trump’s power is drastically reduced without the GOP Senate.

And Trump himself is incapable of feeling any sense of responsibility for human death.

At this point representatives of our social institutions are going to have to come to the reality that old rules (“both sides”, etc.) are out the window.

One political party is withholding needed aid for the American people.

I think full lockdowns are an inevitability at this point and panic buying/hoarding of toilet paper will probably follow. Start saving your Sunday ads.

Well I don’t know what we do about people like my GOP Gov, Lt Gov and AG, who will not let us do anything to protect ourselves.

And Trump has actively worked to force people to put family members into assisted living by restricting home health care workers and making it harder for them. It’s fucking diabolical. People are dying in assisted living facilities.

We’ll know that Trump is truly ready for the rubber room when he starts firing health and covid task force members who suggest reality might be…real. If he fires Fauci, I bet even the GOP will vote to haul him out.

Biden will take office in January and the GOP will demand he fix everything - especially this virus that nobody, not once ever, called a hoax. Dobbs, Hannity, and Carlson will all have COVID counts scrolling across the screen as they scream about Biden’s week mask mandates, etc. etc. etc.

The next administration is already considering a four-to-six-week lock-down.

And that might be a minimum.

Of course they are! Any idiot can see that! What the hell is wrong with these GOP-ers??

Maybe moving is your only option. Seriously, in today’s climate, I think everyone who owns a house should have a plan in place for leaving it behind.

And on a related note…

I’d like to offer best wishes to the cockroaches, as their turn as dominant species rapidly approaches.

Stunning self-enslavement to a political party. I remember a time when the choice between Ike and Adlai was like between Chevy or Ford.

I have no words to express the frustration so many must feel (including me).

Trump is punishing the entire country with COVID…but that does not justify McConnell. Or Abbott, Patrick and the others.

It wouldn’t really surprise me to learn that Trump does know how dangerous the situation is and simply doesn’t care. If he’s trying to do this with foreign policy, why would anyone think he isn’t trying to kill as many people as possible just out of spite?

They’ll have to happen much sooner than that. At the rate we’re going we’ll see some states implement them within the next couple weeks. At least that’s my prediction.

  1. Ideally, yes.

  2. I guess we’ll see who comes to their senses – or blinks.
