“We still have a lot of people who think that this stuff isn’t real or that it’s immoral or sinful "

Yes, we have a lot of people who have their heads up organized superstition, and a lot of preachers who make their living keeping them superstitious.

Today we honor our Mothers. Thanks Mom. We couldn’t have done it without you. :two_hearts:  :gift_heart:

We all need to find a way out of our health care being decided by health insurance companies and politicians. We pay at least twice what European citizens pay for health care and receive 32nd rated care. Gender care is one facet shining attention on the rotten US health care system.

But what country has the most profitable healthcare system? American exceptionalism demands that we be #1, so you have to be willing to pay more for less and eliminate marginal services in the name of efficiency.

Happy Mothers Day. I am grateful for all those mothers, present and past.

And, Universal Healthcare for all, and that includes mental and gender/sex-related care as well. Every bit we spend on building health, and preventive care will hugely help our outcomes.

What kind of idiotic government would not want a population that is healthy, in all respects?

Is that the same as a White Xian Nationalist Theocracy? I think we need to include the libertarians and those who profess their “Conservatism” in there somewhere. Not just Rethuglicans…

James Comer Says He Lost Top ‘Informant’ In Biden Investigation | Crooks and Liars
Well, unfortunately, we can’t track down the informant," Comer replied. “We’re hopeful that the informant is still there. The whistleblower knows the informant. The whistleblower is very credible.”

“The nine of the ten people that we’ve identified that have very good knowledge with respect to the Bidens,” he added, "they’re one of three things, Maria, they’re either currently in court, they’re currently in jail, or they’re currently missing."

Fox News Host Blames Lack Of Subway Vigilantes On ‘Crisis Of Masculinity’ | Crooks and Liars

By David Edwards — May 14, 2023

Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy complained that a “crisis of masculinity” was preventing killings by subway vigilantes.

On a Sunday Fox & Friends segment, Campos-Duffy defended Daniel Penny after he allegedly killed Jordan Neely on a subway for being disruptive. Penny is facing criminal charges.

The host commented after one New Yorker said he might not have intervened like Penny.

“I thought, wow, that guy definitely won’t protect me if I’m on a train and the crazy person was trying to kill me or attack me or punch me in the face,” she said, “which there are plenty of videos of online of, you know, crazy people punching women in the face and then the men around them doing nothing.”

"And so I think this also, you know, there’s a legal aspect to this. There’s a really important cultural aspect," the host added. "I think we live in a culture that already has a crisis of masculinity where so many young people are walking around."

I just saw the lineup for Face the Nation. Another Republican talking about a Republican talking point and being unchallenged in even the simplest way by the presenter.

It’s not unequal. It is rigged.

I grew up in a socialized care system. It was inadequate to say the least.

I pay a third of my wage in taxes. It should cover more than streetlights, potholes, and a cop who turns up 30 minutes after I’ve been beaten to death.

I grew up in a socialized medical system. We got sick or injured and went to the hospital for treatment. There were no bills, no insurance forms, and no costs. We didn’t overuse the system. I think everyone should have that same care. If rich people have money to fly to Houston for premium care, that’s fine too.
