Corrections Officer Suspended After Mockingly Reenacting George Floyd’s Death | Talking Points Memo

Two white men, one of them a corrections officer, mocked the police killing of George Floyd on Monday by reenacting the scene of Floyd’s death in front of Black Lives Matter protesters.

Again, someone in law enforcement behaving deplorably about BLM / humanity.

Feature not bug.

Just keep in mind that correction officers are the ones too thuggish and too dumb to be cops. They are barely any better than the people they are guarding. So no, no surprise at all than one of those idiots thought that doing a re-enactment of a crime was a good idea.

Mr akimbo turned to me during a news report and said something like: “They always tell us that it’s a few bad actors. If are there so few of the bad actors why haven’t the good actors moved them out already? Seems to me that anybody that works with these people and don’t get them out of the police department is as guilty as the rest. I’m done with them.”

There have pictures of white people posing the same way all over social media, or at least since last week.
Once again comply with an officer’s command does not mean you’ll come out unscathed or alive.

In the same vein, there is this gem off of the wire…

Was he suspended for being incredibly stupid?

I would wager that is it is even in the job description…

Thank goodness these racist goobers are so stupid they couldn’t think through the fact that everyone walking by their “counter protest” would have a phone with a camera. When hate and righteousness overwhelm common sense. Is it progress that they don’t have to wear hoods like their daddies? Real progress would have them marching with the BLM protesters.

“Comply with the cops and this wouldn’t have happened!” the man kneeling with his knee on the other’s neck shouted at protesters.

Comply with the authoritarian police state or we will kill you!

Because police unions have negotiated the accountability clause into meaning nothing. Police unions don’t feel the repercussions of allowing bad actors to act badly. It’s the taxpayers that pay the settlements.

From the Washington Post:
“Many on Tuesday, including actor-rapper Ice Cube, called for the FedEx employee to be fired for his racist actions.”

When an gangster actor rapper has more moral sensibility than these lunkheads and police enablers you know public sentiment has shifted. Remember the early 90’s when police organizations and social conservatives urged a boycott of gangster rappers and their record labels?

It’s Somerset/Middlesex County Ds and Rs are fairly evenly split, and the D Machine does not induce idealism. A lot of generally pissed off white people. I lived there for almost 20 years–expect more of the same.

**hey everybody–as @ltridge29 pointed out, I got the town wrong; it’s a different Franklin Township. We’ve got a bunch in of them in NJ. My bad. **

Dotard’s base in action. These bozos are more in love with him than ever. I’m not sure about the percentage Hillary saw in her basket, but deplorable is too nice a word for some of these people.

He didn’t just lose a job, which most people would see as a pretty high price for the pleasure of making an ass out of yourself. He lost his job as a prison guard which presumably was the best job he could get. That’s just wow.

That is an accurate description of many CO’s. Many others are normal human beings who just fell into the profession because it was an available job in their communities.

Performance art from right wing nut jobs appears to be as abysmal as humor from right wing nut jobs - and from my POV, it is hard to distinguish one from the other.
