I had to laught at a radio interview I heard with Barb Kirkmeyer who lost to Marx by a slim margin. She was asked whether Marx’s victory signified that the CO Repulbican party had been taken over by religious “crackpots” (my paraphrasing). She said not at all, that her old-fashioned brand of “taxes are too high and government intrudes too much into private affairs” Republicanism was alive and well. Unfortunately the interviewer failed to point out that the third candidate in the race, Scott Bottoms, a practicing evangelical preacher just as kooky as Victor Marx, won 20% of the vote while Marx and Kirkmeyer each had about 40%..Bible thumpers ryule to CO Republican party anddthat’s why ronbyers is right on the money.
