Colorado Republicans are using an image showing Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Weiser with “devil horns” to mock him on social media. While a top Democrat blasted the move as a “plainly antisemitic” attack, the GOPer who created the graphic doubled down on Tuesday. On Facebook, Sean Pond, a Republican county commissioner and former Senate candidate…

Ignorance is not an excuse in this case. The most obvious reason is that you are running for a leadership position, Mr. Marx, and we expect more from you. We expect you to be educated and informed. That is one of the qualifications for the job you are applying for.

I started the article thinking that referring to this ad as antisemitc might be over the top but having read the article it is pretty clear the opponent is a trained Christian evangelical so he knew of the antisemitic nature of the use of devil horns when referring to a Jewish person.

People ought to be telling that GOPer that he is unAmerican.

“White men! White women! The swastika is calling you! The sacred and ancient symbol of your race, since the beginning of time. The Jew is using The Black as muscle against you. And you are left there helpless. Well, what are you going to do about it, Whitey? Just sit there? Of course not! You are going to join with us…An organization of decent, law abiding white folk. Just like you!”

Reason #973,434 to never vote Rethuglican.

I last made that mistake in 1993, voting for Christine Todd Whitman, who was going to win anyway.

The Democratic incumbent, Florio was going down after a colossal political blunder by expanding the sales tax to include toilet paper. It had always been exempted as “essential”, along with most food and clothing. “prepared” food was always taxed

The state went ballistic

What is the point of the devil’s horns? That he is evil because he can’t begin to compete with Victor Marx on that score, who has said he killed a man when he was 7 and claimed on his campaign website All Things Possible rescued 45,000 women and children from abuse, which was later removed from his campaign website after being disproved.
Where does the GOP find these people???

“Sometimes devil horns just mean the devil. That’s why they show up in cartoons, church lessons, haunted houses, Halloween costumes, emojis, and every costume aisle in America,” Pond wrote in a post on Tuesday afternoon.

But not, Pond, in a professional campaign ad. And if you had a mental age older than 11, you would know that.

Does he assume people are too ignorant of the history of anti Semitism to question his BS explanation? Clearly yes he does.

Pond further argued “Jewish politicians are subject to the same fierce political criticism as Christian politicians, Muslim politicians, atheist politicians, and everyone else seeking public power.”
When I see a political ad showing a Christian politician raping a 12 year old girl on an altar, I’ll believe you suffer just as much persecution - with about 600 years of burnings and banishings more or less, before you catch up with the Jews in matters of oppression.

“Marx alleged that at age seven, his abusive stepfather took him to a rural area of Mendenhall, Mississippi, and made him shoot and kill a man. Mississippi sheriffs and police in the area have said there is no record of any unsolved homicides from that time. Marx claimed he contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the local sheriff’s office, neither of which could solve the case as Marx was unable to provide many details. There is no evidence that Marx ever contacted authorities. Marx mentioned in an interview with Colorado news station 9news that he is unsure how many people he has killed, and that he thinks the exact details do not need to be clarified.

We’ve now reached the barking-mad point where Republicans feel the need to polish their tough-guy images by bragging about murdering people.

This is clearly complete bullshyte.

It’s like stolen valor – but the “serial killer” version.
