And yet Delta stupidly stayed in GA. Lay down with dogs…
I am utterly devoid of sympathy. Corporate America needs a curbstomping beatdown almost equal to the GOP’s need for one.

Remind me again - what was he in trouble for? Looks like following the Republican playbook is working - deny, deny, and defy. “It never happened. I don’t know what she’s talking about. So impeach me.”
I wish I could “like” this about ten more times. My reaction, exactly.
exactly…also color me surprised as Coke and HD are bigot run orgs through and through.
At the moment, nine of the top thirteen items in my mobile version of TPM are about Gaetz.
If businesses had the time to disapprove privately to legislatures, they had the time to publicly come out with much stronger statements than the ones they did publicly release. After all, they had the time to publicly release milquetoast statements.
Maybe if they had some balls, they’d get some respect.
Delta has a complicated relationship with GA. A visionary Mayor of Atlanta William B. Hartsfield, lured Delta to Atlanta form the Mississippi Delta (LA not MS) (now you now why the name) area, this was before WW2, the Mayor wanted to make Atlanta a hub for air travel in the south, like it was for railroads. So Delta and the Atlanta airport (Hartfield-Jackson) have been very close and supportive of each other for 80 years.
The thing is that the rural residents of Georgia hate Atlanta which has never really been a Southern city no matter what “Gone with the wind” said, and since Atlanta became a black run city they truly abhor it, every few years they try to pass legislation to snatch the airport away from the City of Atlanta, and consequently Delta is seen as an ally of ATL and hated as well.
And their hub in Atlanta would have been replaced where? That’s where they were struck with the costs, not at corporate HQ. They are tied to Hartsfield–Jackson, at the very least in the short-to-medium term.
Have they begun making any plans to move? No. They choose to stay where they are subject to risk of boycott versus GOP retaliation. I. HAVE. NO. SYMPATHY.
I know you can’t give someone in line food or water, but can you give someone in line a Coke? Can you $ell a Dasani to someone in line?
Probably because last time Delta did something that ticked the Georgia legislature off, the legislature killed a $40 million tax break on jet fuel.
ETA: And I see @mondfledermaus has already touched on this.
Since they didn’t bitch before it became a law, now they have to bitch loud and with some serious fangs. What do I mean? If their corporate HQ is in GA, they have to threaten to move their HQ out of state, and they have to mean it. That will cut down significantly on GA revenue from that corporation. What to do if corporate HQ isn’t in GA? It’s a lot more painful, but they should also consider moving their operations, and they have to mean it. It’s hell on the workers, but the workers are better off in the long run if the voters rule instead of the GOP.
Any airline that considers ATL as their hub should reconsider moving their hub to another location that doesn’t fuck with the vote.
This is the only ethical way that corporations should use to influence politics. Not Citizens United dark money…No sir. Through capitalism. The local politicians fuck with the voters or the corporation? You pack up and leave if you have to, and you withdraw your taxes as their revenue. Enough people get scared about losing their jobs/income over this shit, and the politicians will be concerned for their livelihood and their lives. Fuck tyrants. This is GOP tyranny.
You know one of the larger porn producers is based in Charlotte, NC. Was recruited a couple of times by headhunters for them. They always made it clear you would be working for a company whose main product was porn.
Talk about a day late and a dollar short. Since they have waited until the horse is officially far from the barn, anything short of cutting off contributions to the entire GA GOP until they undo this (and ideally ensure vote-by-mail for all, registration for all, and end gerrymandering while they’re at it) will not do.

Also worth noting: total population of Georgia is 10.5m, population of Atlanta metro is 6m.
