LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The remnants of Hurricane Laura unleashed heavy rain and twisters hundreds of miles inland from a path of death and mangled buildings along the Gulf Coast, and forecasters warn of new dangers as the tropical weather blows toward the Eastern Seaboard this weekend.
Coastal areas will be uninhabitable in the next few decades. Sea level rise will exacerbate storm surge and the costs of having to continually rebuild will force insurance companies to withdraw from flood prone areas. We have too much infrastructure including airports that will have to be relocated. Saline ocean water leaches sideways killing plants and trees.
Climate Change is upon us and we’re in no way prepared for what’s coming. Cat. 5 hurricanes will become the norm as ocean temperatures continue to rise.
Glad that the damage was not as catastrophic as forecasted but since Power-Grabber-In-Chief wanted to shore up his sinking polls and robbed Peter to pay Paul…and issued an EO to extend unemployment benefits without Congress authorization using FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund…would it be toilet paper relief again?
“A Confederate statue in front of a courthouse that local officials had voted to keep in place just days earlier was knocked down by Laura.”
God’s aim is getting better, but not exactly a surgical strike. Perhaps a little more practice with the lightning bolts is in order just to spare the collateral damage.
