Coastal Louisiana A Hot Mess As Laura Moves East Ahead Of Trump’s Weekend Visit | Talking Points Memo

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The remnants of Hurricane Laura unleashed heavy rain and twisters hundreds of miles inland from a path of death and mangled buildings along the Gulf Coast, and forecasters warn of new dangers as the tropical weather blows toward the Eastern Seaboard this weekend.

Coastal areas will be uninhabitable in the next few decades. Sea level rise will exacerbate storm surge and the costs of having to continually rebuild will force insurance companies to withdraw from flood prone areas. We have too much infrastructure including airports that will have to be relocated. Saline ocean water leaches sideways killing plants and trees.

Climate Change is upon us and we’re in no way prepared for what’s coming. Cat. 5 hurricanes will become the norm as ocean temperatures continue to rise.

Or tow massive chunks of Antarctic ice shelves to the Mid-Atlantic to cool the water down to starve them of fuel…

Can’t we all just open our refrigerators?

If everyone just opened their windows and cranked up the air-conditioning, could have this global warming licked in no time.

"“It is clear that we did not sustain and suffer the absolute, catastrophic damage that we thought was likely,” Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said.

Yeah except numerous videos completely show that there was absolute, catastrophic damage.

Sorry to hear of the damage. Good luck with the magic bean salesman’s FEMA.

Only to the not-white communities.

The whites-only gated communities get caviar and scotch.

Trump will buy up the land cheaply and build a hotel.
Nature will not mess with Trump so that will end Global Warming.

The heat with no electricity will make for some miserable days ahead. The heat index in the Houston area today is 108-115.

Fear not, Trump is on his way to Louisiana.

Glad that the damage was not as catastrophic as forecasted but since Power-Grabber-In-Chief wanted to shore up his sinking polls and robbed Peter to pay Paul…and issued an EO to extend unemployment benefits without Congress authorization using FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund…would it be toilet paper relief again?

Nature begs to differ:

“A Hot Mess”?

I thought that was the name of Ivanka Trump’s 2020 Fall Fashion line.

“A Confederate statue in front of a courthouse that local officials had voted to keep in place just days earlier was knocked down by Laura.”

Well, that’s a damn shame . . .

God’s aim is getting better, but not exactly a surgical strike. Perhaps a little more practice with the lightning bolts is in order just to spare the collateral damage.
