Yes, that’s how we got the last few years of measles outbreaks.
Yes, the figures are way skewed because of interrupted reporting over the holiday. What you want to look at for a true picture is the 7-day average. There’s a very good website here with a graph that’ll let you look at both daily numbers and 7-day averages. You can see that before Christmas the 7-day average was rising and getting above 2,500. Then over Christmas for a few days it was way lower. So you’ll probably see a few days now with over 3,000, maybe even over 4,000, because reporting will be catching up.
I hope that I’m not the only one who learns something from watching interviews that talk about things that happened in the last year? Or I’m just weird.
Yeah when they started reporting here again after Christmas we had over 6000 new cases.
We suffer from way too much information. Unfortunately, so much of it is crap. It’s a treasure when we can finally find the gems in the weed patches. I’m glad we actually find really thoughtful work, even if it is from last year… or further in the past.
Please remember that Rubio said Fauci is the elitist who spread false information.
Rubio thinks he’s going to win in 2024. It tells you how much he cares about his constituents. He’s running against Chris Christie, another GOP who doesn’t care much about his constituents. I see a good theme here for the next pres. elections. Before we even slam the door on donald’s fat ass. GOP is beyond being beyond hope.
Seconded! She’s an unsung (hitherto mainly) National Treasure. Read her second book also - Betrayal of Trust. Neither book does much for a sound night’s sleep. Funny how reality can do that to a body.
You know, When I watch something on TV, I can’t sleep at night. When I read TPM threads, I can’t sleep at night. When I read a really well-written magazine article, like from Atlantic, or New Yorker, I can sleep at night, and when I read a good, well written book, even while upsetting, I can sleep. I think it has something to do with the quality of the thoughts, and ability of the writers. Although I’m not casting aspersions on a lot of the content of the comments here…
