Asked by a CNBC reporter whether there were “worries about a pandemic,” President Donald Trump replied:

“No, not at all. We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

Selfishly, I’m really glad my wife is one of the healthcare workers that have gotten the vaccine. Especially now that we (Colorado) won the who gets the UK strain first lottery.

Not quite the rate of death of the Somme (yet), but still a weekly Antietam. Refrigerated trucking companies must be making a killing as Trump Trailers.

We have a memorial in our nation’s capital dedicated to our citizens who died in the years-long Vietnam conflict.
This month alone, we’ve blown way past that figure with covid-19.
Who’s honoring them? Or those who died earlier? Not Trump. Not McConnell. And not anyone who won’t wear a mask or get vaccinated because…make me.

Just this week, one of my former co-workers let friends know she was recovering from 2 weeks of being ill with Covid. Her mother and father (not residents of the same state) also were infected, and her father passed away two days ago. I don’t know for sure but suspect they didn’t really take it seriously. My friend posted a Thanksgiving photo with two or three of her adult children, a son-in-law and two grandkids, all posing un-masked. (BTW, she identifies as a conservative Christian and thought Trump was doing a great job handling the pandemic when I last spoke to her in May about it).

We are fast approaching the total number of those interred in Arlington National Cemetery (ca. 400,000. Seems like we ought to be able to manage at least a billboard somewhere. Perhaps an obelisk in NYC on Fifth Avenue, mid-50’s.

Trump and Friends making sure they will always be number 1.
Their cult will live on bragging about their power over free people.

That really is awful, but they should acknowledge in the article that there was incomplete reporting over Christmas weekend and so some of these fatalities are from the previous week.

Biden pushed back on claims that he had been “too alarmist” for warning that the country would hit 400,000 deaths before the end of Trump’s term next month

Sadly, we’re on track to hit that grim milestone by mid January.

It is proof positive the GOP own the media that Trump does a 9/11 every day out of malice and moves along like nothing happened, and when a Dem president wears a brown suit it’s a scandal.

The things they say the loudest are their biggest lies.

That’s more than a Rudy9/11 every bloody day.

You can’t teach stupid. But you can kill it with stupid.

How the god squad don’t see this as an indictment of them, their ideas, and their leader, is the power of faith that keeps the GOP malignly slipping along.

Similarly, my wife works for a health department and got her first vaccination shot yesterday. There was an interoffice memo advising employees of the details / location, but that somehow got out to the public, resulting in large crowds swarming the vaccination site, only to be turned away. Lots of bugs to he worked out, glad Trump has a plan.

Me? I’m still at about 23 millionth in line.

Wait until Trump tells these fine folks that Jesus was a sucker and loser for getting himself crucified.

So last night on Amanpour & Compnay Christian reran an interview with Ed Young a science writer over at “The Atlantic”, it was from May 2020 and was between interesting, scary, and madding how what he talked about then is what has come to pass.

Just saw on Yahoo that the 41 GOP Congressmen Elect from LA died from COVID. I feel bad for his wife/kids and yet can’t help but, wonder if he brought it on himself.
