CNN: U.S. Tops 3,700 COVID Deaths In A Single Day | Talking Points Memo

We are now experiencing the equivalent of a “9/11” every day in recorded deaths. How many would have survived if we had a president who actually decided to deal with a pandemic instead of ignoring it?

This daily scorecard crap drives me crazy too. Why can’t we get across the board intelligent reporting on this kind of thing with running 7 day averages and other much more meaningful stats.

Ooops! Sorry I got carried away there - started to think we were in an advanced country.

Yesterday, I read somewhere that the UK strain is known as that for having been first identified there, a result of the intensity of the genetic analysis done there. It’s not necessarily where it originated. It may have been from @ralph_vonholst.
This has ramifications for its likely current distribution and effective responses – if it didn’t originate in the UK around the time of its discovery, it could be much more wide spread and efforts to contain it to the UK are pointless. Contact tracing to find a line of connection to England may be misdirected. (ed.)

Personally, I’m hoping Putin releases the pee pee tape now that Trump is no use to him. He would think that would be finally demoralizing, rather than phenomenally inspiring.

Come on, Vlad. You’re a grown man that wants a picture of himself naked on a horse.

You know. A tool.

I’m in the UK right now. Contact tracing never happened here. If Britain identified something new about the coronavirus it was pure accident.

It wasn’t the contact tracing: it was the genetic analysis of identified viral samples. The earliest of the new strain were from the southwestern UK.

They are 2 separate points. Absolute failure in one is proof of the good fortune of the other.

Since I’m still on the Indiana CNA registry I have received a couple of letters from the state health department informing me I can be vaccinated in the first batch. Unfortunately, the letters state I must bring proof of current employment, and I retired September 1–so way back down the line with me.
A friend who volunteers at a local testing program got hers a few days ago. She said they’ve picked up a lot of new volunteers lately…

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) to object to congressional certification of election results, all but ensuring a delay in cementing Biden’s victory

3,700 deaths per day, and Senator Josh Hawley is on the case. Having determined the Constitution is the source of the virus, he bravely strides into battle, determined to destroy it…

Really good insight from Ed Young. The virus really doesn’t care how scared you are.

Thanks for posting this

This program comes on late at night where I am. I was sooooo tired when it came on, but I couldn’t go to bed once the interview started. I was angered and dismayed that Ed Young and Laurie Garrett haven’t been listened to lo these past 5 months or so.

More American dead people in 10 months than the entire population of one whole European country (Iceland).

February 26, 2020, a “stable genius“ spoke: “We only have 15 cases, and in a few days we will be down to zero “. That MF’r lied. To all of us. He had been informed of the severity of the virus. He chose to lie about it. Many chose to believe him. Here we are now, mired in a death cult.

When 3000 deaths a day out into the indefinite future is the good outcome.

And I think I understand why Fauci is upping his estimate of vaccine percentage. Not so much because of infectivity, but because there will be a reservoir of unvaccinated thoughtless people. And if that reservoir is big enough they can sustain community spread indefinitely.

Laurie Garrett gets a little traction on MSNBC. She is awesome. Her book “The Coming Plague,” which came out in the mid 1990s (I believe), is definitely worth a read…

No offense, but I don’t need to read about it - I’m living it. hahahahaha
