President Donald Trump has reportedly been calling Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) not once, not twice, but three times a day lately in a panic over the House impeachment inquiry.
Nothing says “I am big and strong” like calling the real boss and pissing your pants in front of him several times a day. I wonder if he’s crying on the phone yet. I wonder when McConnell will stop taking the calls.
McConnell’s spokesperson, Doug Andres, denied the report. “This story, based on a single anonymous source, is categorically false,” he told CNN.
Andres continued “And that will continue to be our line until there are multiple named sources and/or transcripts pop up, at which point we will retract everything.”
Calling in between tee shots? Or is it now all executive time, all the time, in the Spanky bunker?
As Trump continues to meltdown, get used to redefining what you thought was the craziest behavior you’ve ever seen on a daily basis. This is going to get really weird folks. I don’t know how it will all play out, but at least it will be entertaining (if not apocalyptic).

A couple of qualities that Mitch has that should work well in this case are an absolute lack of loyalty combined with an ability to know which way the wind is blowing.
I await the glorious day when Mitch stops taking Trump´s phone calls.

I don´t think McConnell does retractions. He just never mentions it again.
I’m sure #MoscowMitch is telling the truth; Trump isn’t calling 3x a day, it’s 4, 5, and 6 times a day…the source doesn’t know about the 3 am calls that Mitch gets at home.

When they start to answer him, we really need to worry.
I’ve been thinking lately that even Mitch might start to realize there’s no bottom to Trump. I know he’s in very, very, deep, but I have to think there’s a point where he will turn on Trump, because otherwise, inexorably, Trump will destroy him.
This is clearly all part of Trump’s plan.
