CNN Exec Doubles Down On Sean Duffy Hire Even As Network’s Talent Trashes Him

On Tuesday, a CNN executive defended the network’s decision to hire ex-Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) as a contributor even after CNN’s own top on-air talent spent the day bashing Duffy for his comments about House impeachment witness Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.

I actually like this hire for CNN. It helps them with the balance argument when conservatives try to bash CNN as left wing. And he’s so, so dumb that he’s actually a pretty poor messenger for the right wing, and he serves as a pretty convenient punching bag for everyone else on the network.

Why does he have cotton sticking out of his ears but no straws sticking out of his nose?

Hopefully they can hire some flat earth scientists while they’re at it.

So-called “conservatives” will bash CNN as left-wing regardless of “hires” like this idiot. To Jeff Zucker, Trump (and this kind of pettiness) means clicks which means eyeballs which means cash.

Hard to believe it’s been so long since this:

Being afraid of conservatives bashing your network ill-suits an organization theoretically dedicated to reporting facts.

“This Fox News insanity, and with all due respect to our new contributor former congressman Duffy, his insanity and frankly, anti-immigrant bigotry that is reflected in casting aspersions on Vindman is really something,” said Toobin

Yep. That´s all the respect that´s due Duffy.

CNN reports “from all points of view,” which means “having people who support the President’s policies.”

That verb “reports” … I don’t think it means what she thinks it means.

CNN: Hey we gotta have people who support ISIS’s policies as well for balance. Next up when we talk about the weather we will have someone on to yell at the forecaster that its actually gods wrath that causes hurricanes.

Sure. Why not, right?

Apparently, the bomb-thrower point of view sells something. Maybe going for the Entyvio/Crohn’s disease demographic?

Lame. Why not try factual analysis? We realize it’s a bold and risky step for a commercial news organization.

CNN reports “from all points of view,” which means “having people who support the President’s policies.”

According to this logic you should also hire 9/11 truthers, full trance mediums, UFOoligists, young earth creationists, and cryptozoologists.

So, he’s Jeffery Lord 2.0

I have no problem with opposing points of view, but why not hire legitimate conservatives who can actually speak rationally? Guys like Duffy and Lewandowski are there to be moronic flame-throwers, and I suspect that is CNN’s real intent. To me, it just makes them even less believable and undermines what limited amounts of journalism they do.

I should confess that I never watch CNN and haven’t for years.

Basically, we’re talking about a predominantly white, puffy, middle aged male demographic here.
