An obscenity is any utterance or act that strongly offends the prevalent morality of the time.[1] It is derived from the Latin obscēnus , obscaenus , “boding ill; disgusting; indecent”, of uncertain etymology.[2] The word can be used to indicate a strong moral repugnance, in expressions such as “obscene profits” or “the obscenity of war”.
Everyday, they come up to the podium, spit out their speeches, then tRump walks up, grabs the mic that they just spit all over, and adjusts just like the cheesy emcee he is. Then the next speaker comes up and adjusts it again. Total boneheads.
Trump was elected by Putin, Facebook and CNN. Zucker gave Trump millions, billions perhaps in free publicity throughout the campaign of 2016. Zucker continues his support of Trump in this election year by continuing to air Trump’s coronarallies.
As long as there are eyeballs, Zucker will continue to air Trump’s dangerous misinformation unfettered. Just shameful.
TL/DR: Yes. If they shut down, Republicans and Trumpers would gasp freak out and Trump would tweet mean and nasty stuff at them (moreso than they already do I guess?)
These live broadcasts do create a record of the inanity of Trump and the insanity of these briefings. Reporting on them with a few clips really misses out on the world saladness, and the unhinged rants. It is clear that just showing the factual parts would be better for sending out information to keep people safe, but the awfulness of Trump is a big part of this story and it has to be captured. And, unfortunately, it always is news when the president speaks in a time of crisis…this is going to be a record for history on how awful this period of governance really was.
It would really be best if news organizations started fact checking in real time, and follow with a detailed analysis of the facts and good information.
