A Chicago federal judge on Friday demanded that CBP commander and federal escalation impresario Greg Bovino appear next week in her courtroom after he was accused of openly violating one of her orders. Attorneys in the case said on Thursday that Bovino flung a canister of tear gas at a crowd of protestors in Chicago,…
Excellent work, Judge Ellis. I’m confident that this creep doesn’t believe in judicial authority, but maybe some jail time will set him straight.
And just curious about this…”faced a “mob of rioters” that threw rocks, including one that struck Bovino in the head before gas was deployed, McLaughlin said.”
A rock hit him in the head, and he got a groin injury?
Funny that the video shows no such thing. More proof: Phantoms are really hard to fight.
Bovino’s interpretation of the First Amendment does not include the freedom of assembly, free speech or the right to protest the government..
In an interview with CBS News published Friday, Bovino said he and his agents had compiled with Border Patrol policy when using force against Chicagoans.
“The use of force that I’ve seen has been exemplary — the least amount of force necessary to accomplish the mission,” Bovino said.
“If someone strays into a pepper ball, then that’s on them. Don’t protest and don’t trespass.”
The Trump administration and the republican party are not honest participants in democracy.
Chicago Federal Judge Hauls Bovino in to Court
Lawyers accused the CBP commander of brazenly violating a court order.
… … … … … …
Did they not expect this behavior from him?
To be fair, the headline for this story seems a little ambitious. Perhaps "Chicago Federal Judge Orders Bovino to appear in to Court" might be more appropriate. Any bets on whether he shows? ![]()
He’ll come all penitent & mea culpe into court. Judge will let him go with a warning. Laugh my ass off if he gets tossed into a cell.
We are going to witness in real time whether or not “all politics is local.”
Aquiessence to a rogue federal “government” will all hinge on local law enforcement and judiciary.
This is a tipping point.
The indiscriminate use of tear gas, pepper balls, and rubber bullets will be accepted or returned in kind.

This judge will have fed Marshalls arrest him, drag him into court.
Because his head is up his ass?
Sounds like a plan!

OK…. So here’s the question then…. If the judge were to find him in contempt and have him jailed could Trump just issue a pardon and order him released ? Not if it’s actually legal to do that but if Trump we’re to go that route would he then be released ?
The Trump regime shows yet another example of its approach to the rule of law.
The Trump administration said it would not try to prevent millions of low-income Americans from missing their food stamp assistance in November as a result of the government shutdown.
In a memo, viewed by The New York Times, the Department of Agriculture said that a set of contingency funds is “not legally available to cover regular benefits.”
President Trump said that an anonymous private donor has given $130 million to the U.S. government to help pay troops during the government shutdown.
He come all penitent & mea culpe into court
Not their style.
If the judge were to find him in contempt and have him jailed could Trump just issue a pardon and order him released ?
If the judge finds him in civil contempt, there’s nada TFG can do.
I totally agree that he *shouldn’t * be able to do it but I wonder if he might try anyway. Cite something about “ national security “ and demand he be released. Or even dispatch some DHS agents to the jail to get him released. Trump is drunk with power right now and I wouldn’t put it past him
Not related, but I couldn’t help wondering about a couple of recent Trump actions. I guess it was the gambling bust that got me wondering: The man ran a damn casino (into the ground), so we know he has no issue with gambling, and we know he doesn’t give a damn about upholding the law, so I guess maybe we should ask ourselves, “Who benefits?” Of course the correct answer is always, “DJ Trump,” so maybe we should ask, “Who else benefits?” Did some player or players in the gaming industry (legal or illegal) suddenly pony up for a few million in Trump memecoin in order to get this bust done?
And let’s assume Trump is also going after the drug trade in the Caribbean: We know Trump does not give the slightest shit about whether the poors are OD’ing on fentanyl. So is there another player in the industry Trump is helping out? Is somebody cutting Trump in on the action if he abuses US military might to hobble a rival drug cartel?
Yes, I know, speculation bordering on CT. But with all the known financial hijinks & criminality this administration (as well as the Trump crime family) is engaging in, shouldn’t we assume the worst when it comes to anything they do?
