The GQP should be deeply ashamed.
But that’s not gonna happen.
The GOP makes it official: after an unprecedented, violent attack on the US Capitol and the Constitutional processes that have underpinned our republic for over 200 years, one of the two major political parties in the United States has chosen to bind their future with the terrorists rather than with democracy.

Republicans approve resolution declaring that 2+2=5.
By voice vote.
“ The decision took place by voice vote during a brief but raucous closed-door meeting in an auditorium on Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning, after Ms. Cheney made a defiant final speech that drew boos from her colleagues.”
New York Times
Couldn’t even do a secret ballot?
ETA. Had to gather my thoughts. This is mass GOP suicide by voice vote. Another rung to the bottom.
Republicans ousted Cheney for defending our constitutional democracy. The Republican party has divorced itself from reality and the country.
Next: de-certifying The 60’s.
In 1971, President Lyndon Johnson said of a dangerous rival: “It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.”
Heh.
We cannot both embrace the Big Lie and embrace the Constitution
Oh, Liz…Liz…they’ve stopped doing the latter many, many years ago.
I don’t know about divorced, but they have certainly declared themselves opposed to the last 150+ years’ constitutional order.
Which, I venture, is worse.
Concisely said. And absolutely true. This is unsustainable.
Them rethugs sure know cancel culture when they see it. WoW
Any Democrat that believes any GOP controlled state is going to conduct the next election in good faith needs to be shown the door now. The last thing we need is the GOP pulling the ‘Lucy’ on the ball of democracy. The GOP are just using ‘Trump’ as the excuse, the reality is they have decided that receiving fewer votes should not prevent them from holding all power. The GOP party has rejected democracy. Democrats need to be prepared for this.
I’m sure ousting the highest ranking female in the Republican party will do wonders to bring the Republican moms in the suburbs out to vote for the rapey hero of insurrectionists one more time.
Completely not worried about this.
Had to be a voice vote. A secret ballot would have shown just how many were too cowardly to say out loud what they actually believed.
I would describe them more as “spawn.”
