Cheney Officially Backs Rep. Slotkin In First Dem Endorsement

House Jan. 6 Committee vice chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) endorsed Rep. Elissa Slotkin’s (D-MI) reelection bid on Thursday, marking the Republican’s first endorsement of a lawmaker on the other side of the aisle in her push against Trumpism in her own party.

Barret sounds like a real POS, IOW a typical republican.

Anybody else think Liz is going full Dem in 2024? Not because of political philosophy but rather because it’s the only party that’s actually democratic.

At this point, they’re synonymous and the sooner the non-POS members realize that, the better. John Boehner was a real sleazeball, but he didn’t seem like a POS. The Boehner’s of the Party have all but been driven out at this point.

I hope she starts a new party to pull votes from the GOP if TFG runs.

I hope she does it regardless - whether it’s TFG or any other orange mini-me.

Makes sense. Elissa Slotkin is a national security wonk - ex-CIA with tours in Afghanistan and Iraq - she knows what she’s talking about, but I’m afraid she probably leans to the neocon on foreign policy, although she is totally mainstream democratic in all other areas. And let’s not fool ourselves, Democratic ranks were full of neocons in the 2000s.

It is getting pretty clear that Trump and MAGA have become their own third party (and one that is pretty well outside of the Constitutional system of government in the U.S.). So, in those terms Cheney isn’t so much rebelling against the GOP as she is campaigning against the MAGA insurrection.

More like a hostile takeover of the existing party, akin to Carl Icahn’s destruction of TWA.

Liz for Prez in 2024!

Uh oh…

" Though Trump’s challenges to the search and seizure of Mar-a-Lago in August have been before judges in Florida, a federal grand jury in Washington, DC, appears to be handling the criminal investigation into obstruction of justice and mishandling of records, including national security secrets."

Don’t go that far. Liz is no kinda liberal. She is just anti trump and trump lies
I do like that she prefers truth to bullshit, I will give her that.

Maybe Cheney can do something similar for Demings and Beasley who say they’re being ignored by establishment Dems in their pursuit for senate suits. Both of these races are under the radar.

I should have been more specific: LC is my favorite for the GOP Prez nomination.

No way would I vote for her. Never ever.

Sen. Tom Barrett (R), whose campaign texted fake appointment confirmations for “your child’s gender reassignment surgery” to voters in April.

With fuckery like that, Liz Cheney’s endorsement of a Democratic candidate was a no-brainer. Any Democrat who practiced that sort of cynical nonsense would deserve no different.

Sez no one. The repubs hate her, she’ll get no support from them on anything, and Democrats won’t support a republican. I’d say her future is bleak and she’ll wander a political no-man’s land for a long time.

And Dems would self-police, whereas the Grand Old Party coddles them when not egging them on.

Not gonna happen. Maybe the Lincoln Project is looking to expand its ranks.

Agreed. She is still my candidate for the GOP Prez nomination. I hope that she would tear the GOP to many more shreds.

Go Liz!

All the more reason for her to run!
