Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who serves as vice chair of the Jan. 6 Committee, on Tuesday revealed yet more details about former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows’ communications as he worked with former President Trump to subvert the election results before and during the deadly Capitol insurrection.
I and others commented, a number of weeks back, that any of those Trumpista treason-weasels who thought they could out-fight a Cheney were going to get gutted like fish. Seems to be proving-out.
Can’t think of any reason
Don’t know exactly why
Must be it’s out of season
Give it another try
I’m out here in the meadows
Part of an old stone wall
Stand here because he said so
Waitin’ around to fall
Some things are left unspoken
Some things are hand me down
The circle stands unbroken
Sendin’ it back around
What is Meadows trying to achieve? He shares some pretty damning evidence with the panel and only then decides to not cooperate? I’m thinking he might just be really dumb.
So…Fox News hosts knew the President was responsible. Aides in the White House knew he was responsible. At least one member of Trump’s family knew he was responsible. Republican Congressional members knew he was responsible. Ergo…?
Whether it is 100 incriminating documents or 10,000, there is not one senator who voted against impeachment in January who would vote any differently today. We are not suffering from a lack of knowledge, facts or evidence - we are suffering from minority rule of a group of people who are voting in favor of misinformation, political blackmail and outright thuggery against election workers and many other people. We are under the thumb of a Scotus that is willing to do pretzel logic to support authoritarian tendencies - as long as they are the right kind - and a political party that has thrown every shred of honor and ethics under the bus in order to hold on to and solidify their power.
Why do we seem so ineffectual and cowardly against something that is so obviously deeply evil to the rest of the world?
Even with that interpretation, to do nothing when there was a clear consensus that he had the ability to stop it shows a reckless disregard for the Constitution. And deserves to be labeled criminal behavior.
