The censure vote will be all dems (minus AOC) + at most 13 reps. That’s fine. Hammer them about how they put party over not just country, but common decency.
This is an easy one to stand up for what’s right, grandstand a bit about American values - and clobber purple-district republicans for being unwilling to call out an obvious jerk like Godard.

I get the real sense that we are witnessing the dissolution of the Republican Party, at least as we’ve always known it to be. I can easily recognize Liz Cheney as a Republican. I cannot recognize Qevin McCarthy as a Republican.
So, #1, Which side split from the other?
#2, What will the name of this new Republican Party be? And
#3, Which side will claim the name of the new Republican Party? Will it be those who we’ve always recognized as traditional Republicans like Cheney and Murkowski and Sasse? Or will it be the majority of the existing Republican Party that bears no resemblance to what the GOP has ever been?
Regardless, the modern GOP ain’t what it used to be, and its future as a Party under any name is quite uncertain.

Yes. Someone upthread said that Cheney would gut him like a fish, which I’d agree with . . . if the combination of his fear of Trump, his caucus’s behavior, and his own inability to finesse any of this hadn’t done so already.
