WTF? I take it the orange slime and one of his ardent cultists stepped in. Clearly the tug of war between fact and fiction and science and make-believe continues unabated.
Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but the CDC is only posting this guidance now? I know early on there was still some doubt as to the role played by larger droplets vs. aerosolized particles, but I thought the consensus that this thing could spread through microscopic aerosols, particularly in poorly-ventilated, enclosed spaces, was pretty clear months ago.
Shorter CDC: “Dear Leader told us he wants big indoor rallies. He needs attendees maskless and crammed in tight. Trump demands cheers and sacrifices to his greatness.”
They realized that they can’t force all the workers back to the offices where the air-conditioning setups are ideal for the spread of viruses in general if their official guidance notes that aerosol spread is a problem.
We’re crossing a rubicon into actual criminal activity instead of merely incompetent negligence.
There is a fundamental tenacity that undergirds all Americans, and it is very American to back someone to the hilt. But they go too far.
They think their own people are stupid. That don’t realize that even Americans will give up in the face of facts.
You don’t get to admit it in February, claim you kept it from the people for their own good, and then not even let the Gov’s own people describe it like you would in pillowtalk to a reporter.
They are losing them daily. Trump can only lose support. He cannot gain any more of it.
The guidance posting was the result of a disgruntled member of the Deep State getting out ahead of The Leader. We have not yet decided how we want to say COVID-19 spreads to enable us to have large, indoor campaign rallies and to enable white suburbanites to keep going to Applebees.
