89 mph? Does going 90 mph bump the offense up to reckless driving with some sort of mandatory punishment? Chances are excellent that he wasn’t actually driving 89 mph.

The westernmost NC congressional district is once again NC-11 (though check back again if the Thomases decide to interfere again), and both cawcaw and edwards are in the NC-11 gop primary. Along with woodlouse, whom cawcaw endorsed before cawcaw reverse-carpetbagged back to his sitting district (sorry, woodlouse, but you knew what it was gonna be like before you ran as a republican).

I think it will be hard to hide this one. Twice driving on a suspended or revoked license makes him a habitual offender. Also, I believe NC requires insurance to be suspended when the license is suspended.

In the suburbs where I grew up there were a number of wayward youth who would get into a bad situation with the law there was pretty much an infrastructure in place with middle to upper middle class folks to rectify the situation and make sure little Johnny didn’t have something on their permanent record.

A Florida woman is charged with DUI after being pulled over while high on deodorant spray, says an affidavit filed by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Katherine Theodore, 31, was pulled over Sunday by deputies who “noticed a stack of empty Right Guard…cans in her car,” according to CBS 12 News, which first reported on the incident. The vehicle smelled strongly of deodorant, and Theodore, who cops say appeared impaired, first explained it away by claiming she simply liked the smell of it, the affidavit states. She later conceded that she had two drinks earlier in the day, then huffed the Right Guard after she got into her car. Theodore was arrested and released on $750 bond, according to court records.

According to one site on NC driving violations -
Most tickets more than 15mph over the speed limit are charged as misdemeanors. These speeding tickets, if you are convicted can result in license and insurance points, revocation of your driver’s license, and probation or even jail time if you charge with a high-speed offense.
If you are stopped for speeding more than 25mph over the speed limit, it is likely that you will also be charged with reckless driving, a class 2 misdemeanor which can also result probation and four insurance points.
