Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson wouldn’t go into details about the Trump administration’s plan upon the docking of the Grand Princess cruise ship in Oakland, California during an interview on ABC News Sunday morning.
“This began in December 2019, it began being widely reported in January 2020. How could we possibly know what was going to happen and have any plan now? Who could’ve foreseen all of these things?”
There should have been a plan in place a few weeks ago. We were forewarned by events in other countries. This is just more criminal negligence. How does this inspire any confidence in this Administration? It’s just unconscionable behavior towards the people and families involved in this nightmare.
He’s going to send it back out to sea then scuttle it with all passengers aboard. Senate Republicans have already approved the plan, though Susan Collins was said to have expressed “deep concern for the passengers” before agreeing to the plan in full. Thoughts and prayers will go out to any surviving family members of the passengers.
Carson responded that he thinks “it needs to all come from a solitary source.”
so as soon as the ‘Chosen One’ gets back from the golf course and finishes a bucket of KFC he’ll surely endorse a plan. It will include tax cuts for billionaires and an expedited investigation of Hunter Biden - but other than that it’s hard to say.
If anybody - Pence, Carson, Fauci, Azar, etc. - announces a “plan,” Trump will just undercut what they say with a tweet or a stupid comment at a gaggle. And probably get angry, too, if he thinks what they say will hurt the “numbers” or the rave reviews he’s getting for handling this crisis.
