Butterfly Center On Border Fears It’s A Target Of Right-Wing Rally

The National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas has been through hell in the four years since it became a surprising right-wing fixation. Now, things have gotten bad enough that they’re shutting down for the weekend due to safety concerns.

Why do MAGAts hate butterflies? Were they scared by caterpillars as children?

Well, we know the MAGAhats hate nature, aka the environment, and everything in it that isn’t lined up behind their orange Gawd.Remember when they were ripping out saguaros and pipe organ cacti from the national monuments along the border, so they could put up their gods-forsaken wall? But disrupting butterfly habitat? Clearly, there is no bottom.

told TPM he saw the argument spill outside the Butterfly Center building “like a scene from a cowboy movie.”

Why, were the idiots wearing chaps and spurs?

excited to partake in one of the perks afforded to We Stand America’s top-tier ticket-holders, a $2,500 “private reception event,” which includes a tour of the border with none other than Flynn himself,

OoOoO, how dreamy

It is standard fringe procedure. Like the old idiom, “There is no such thing as bad publicity”, they seize opportunities to create mayhem, sow misinformation, and draw attention, all in a desperate atempt to appear relevant. Bless their hearts!

They’re mad because Monarchs are orange and only their god is allowed to be that color.

Actually, Monarchs are orange and that other color (black). Double reason.

And this is why we can’t have nice things.

A promotional video for the event — the first in a nationwide “Take Action Tour” — features animated gunshots and tells viewers, “It’s time to take a stand.”

Because that’s what’s really wrong with this country – not enough armed fuckwits with lousy trigger discipline and delusions of adequacy, rampaging through public spaces. Let’s fix that!

One would think something orange and claiming to be a Monarch would be revered…

A butterfly is merely a conjoining of snowflakes.

Has anyone ever challenged these yahoos over private property rights? I mean I’ve never been to the border, I’m not well read on all of Texas/Mexico history, but I do know that there are families in Texas that can trace their family’s history before their was a Texas, but even before there were Anglos in Texas.
Add to this that rivers ramble, they change course over time. Why would any sane thinking person decide that a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect butterflies be a part smuggling humans and drugs.

A common theme among MAGAhats and fascists in general is a hatred of museums and the preservation of culture that isn’t triumphant hence the Nazis “degenerate art” campaign.
