Blunt Thinks It’s ‘Too Early’ To Form Jan. 6 Commission As Bill Moves To Senate | Talking Points Memo

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) on Sunday quipped that it’s “too early” to create an independent commission to probe the deadly Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6, following the House’s passage of the bill for the commission’s formation that now faces an uphill battle in the 50-50 Senate.

That’s right, Roy, stay Trumpy. Soon you, too, will be less relevant than Petfinder.com.

Some of them say it has to be done by new years and some of them are saying it’s too soon. But they all are saying they can’t vote for it now, so fuck them.
Let the investigations play out in the courts, let’s see how happy they are with that.

“Commissions often don’t work at all and when they do work, like the Simpson-Bowles commission, produced a good result, nothing happened as part of that result,” Blunt said.“

Had the insurrection happened under a Democratic president, it isn’t too cynical, or even a little bit unrealistic, to suggest that Blunt and his republican colleagues would be crying to the heavens for an investigation. The days when both parties had an interest in preserving our form of government, beyond party interest, are long gone. Yet again, the republicans don’t fail to disappoint.

Time for DOJ to jump in with a full top level criminal investigation with their subpoena powers.

No more games. No more delays. No more political bullshit.

I cannot recall Roy Blunt talking this damn stupid! How can he say its too damn early to form a commission to fully investigate what happened to our beautiful Capitol on Jan 6, 2021! This is OUR DAMN HOUSE AND WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE FUCK WENT ON! PERIOD!!

The 9/11 commission is the model for formatting and staffing this commission. However, if we used the response to 9/11 as a model for timing… recall that we had boots on the ground and ordinance on targets well ahead of the results of the 9/11 commission.

Careful what you wish for, Mr Roy.

As you point out, it’s trending towards, “How about never? Does never work for you?”

14 Months. So right during the runup to the midterms, taking televised testimony every day? Uh-huh. I’m sure Blunt would vote for that.

So too soon to start but absolutely finish by end of year?

O go fuck yourself, Blunt.

Blunt Thinks It’s ‘Too Early’ To Form Jan. 6 Commission As Bill Moves To Senate

… … …
Would before the next presidential election be OK/ Or maybe 10 years from now? 50 years from now? Never??
Ordinarily when treason is committed folks want it investigated promptly but apparently Blunt wants us to forget what trump did.
How long after the horrific attack of 9/11 did Congress pussy foot about before they wanted an investigation? Did the rubble need to be cleared first? The dead buried and mourned?

Blunt Thinks It’s ‘Too Early’

Ah yes, the famous “now is not a good time” stock answer, usually whipped out by management when you ask for a raise.

Hey Blunt, there never will be a good time. They’re still hiding Nixon evidence 50 years after the event. So lets do it now, in good faith, and see where the chips land.
