Alright, Dems, lets get this out there - and tie it to everything.
Farmers - can’t afford fertilizer, fuel, farming equipment? Too bad, he’s in a war he’s bored with!
Families - no relief in sight for anything! Your salary isn’t keeping pace with inflation and the average hours worked per week is being cut back! You can’t even afford the mysterious origin “lower price” ground beef he’s importing.

Farmers are among Trump’s biggest cultists. They overwhelmingly supported him all three times he ran. Despite his history of loving import taxes (tariffs), farmers are belatedly waking up? Why? It’s because they wanted Trump to harm “others.”
They are getting exactly what they voted for. They deserve it all. That’s why Democrats in Congress should only support a bailout if the tariffs are rescinded. Otherwise it’s welfare for MAGA.

We need to keep track of Democrats who are promoting this message and those who are ‘business as usual’ (looking at you, Hakeem). The important thing is to fight like hell to get a blue wave in Congress and then in January start looking for new leadership.
We cannot afford complacency or going along to get along. We cannot stand for it.

rising costs for farmers
Not just farmers. This morning I spoke with my neighbor, who manages several properties, and he relayed how he’s getting upset at rising prices.
Costs aren’t just 30% higher. A job that used to cost $1000 now costs $1300? Naw. Those now cost almost $3000. On top of that, businesses are coming up with all kinds of new fees and charges to add to the cost.
Everybody’s angry.

I think you are forgetting, or perhaps were never aware, that U.S. farmers provide us with most of the food we eat. It’s that’s forgetfulness or ignorance that helps keep many farmers resentful of the people who live in metropolitan areas and tend to vote Democratic. An important reason for many farmers’ antipathy to the Democratic Party.

I know what farmers do. Indeed, three of my grandparents were farmers (or born on farms) back in Greece. My comment says there should be a bailout but that Democrats condition support on ending the Trump regime tariffs that harm farmers. I think that’s good politics and even better policy. Why don’t you?

Regarding imports of foreign beef:
“I am not privy to talk about that. I think the conversations are still going on, and that’s Ambassador [Jamieson] Greer who’s finalizing what exactly that looks like, and I think the president’s involved in that as well,” she said.
In other words, no one in this maladministration has any clue how to implement what the moron flippantly promised.

A niggling question. Keeping track of silence in the news where there ought to be something is exhausting. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was supposed to be drifting toward zero. Aircraft continue to fly all over the world every day. When does civilization run out of certain kinds of fuel and all hell break loose?

No. It’s the RW media that has taken over all the airwaves in rural America, broadcasting propaganda aimed at creating that myth in their minds, and in rural America there is little to counterbalance that narrative. Additionally the relative level of education obtained by rural voters tends to be very low compared to those in cities, as a direct result of the decades-long assault on schools and teachers waged by the forces of the kleptocrats.

Jeffries has spoken out loudly and clearly and in multiple forums (just google) about the wretched state of the economy for nearly all but the billionaire class, linking it to the tariffs, the war in Iran, and other Trump policies and, recently, promising “regime change in the United States” come November if everyone gets out to vote. He’s also denounced the corruption of Trump and his administration and Trump’s Post Office shenanigans. Do I wish that Jeffries was a more effective public speaker and, especially, that he was more supportive of the most progressive Dems? Of course I do. But I don’t see evidence that he is all “business as usual” or complacent.
Dems really are experts at the circular firing squad.

And the farmers are forgetting that many of those “others” are their customers. People who buy food. With SNAP. Or children. With school lunch programs. Or Seniors…
