So when, say, a John Cornyn figure plays coy about what his private disagreements with the President were, he was actually worse then The Rump. He is on the side of refusing to spend money that even The Rump knows must be spent.

He’s a lot like Jeff Flake in this regard, on those few occasions where he has disagreed with The Rump, The Rump is the less bad of the two more often than not.

I guess Senate Republicans don’t see a reason to waste their ammunition on a lost cause, they are going to need it if Biden wins. I trump wins then they can do whatever he wants, but until then, they are keeping their powder dry.

This is the result of nearly four years of chaos in the Executive Branch and a Republican Senate that is only concerned with confirming judges. Fund the distribution of a life saving vaccine? Nah, they are on their own -let them eat cake.

This should really make the decision about whether to prosecute Trump and investigate the books on the current administration much easier.

As Mnuchin holds out to become the “aid czar” once again, we are reminded how this administration has turned appropriations into “suitcases of money” to be doled out based on shady quid pro quos. Keeping Trump administration waste in the public eye will also be a useful tactic once the remaining Republicans suddenly put on their “serious and sober deficit hawks” costumes.

Krugman’s article from yesterday pointing out the need to spend big and tell republican who made the deficit worse with their tax cut to go fuck themselves if they mention the deficit. My feelings anyway!
