OT :Aurora early yesterday morning at Skunk Bay on Puget Sound. Pretty amazing. I missed it but the weather camera there picked it up.

I do believe that the House moderates acted badly today by refusing to vote for BBB. After all, this bill will have to run the gauntlet in the Senate, and the CBO score will be available by then.

But then, Jayapal did them one worse, and refuses to vote for BIF as Pelosi wanted them to. I also believe that progressives blew it by tying the two bills together which sowed the seeds of distrust and conflict.

Can Democrats govern? They are certainly giving the public more and more evidence that they cannot. Perceptions matter, and it may soon be too late to change them (if it is not already).

I think The Big Lie started in W’s administration and credit Karl Rove for explaining they were creating “our own reality” and then lied their way into Iraq.

O wow. I want to see it so bad.

So basically, it’s going to be BIF and no Reconciliation, because performative centrism and plutocracy.

I almost couldn’t even give a shit anymore. Fuck this country.

Where are you getting this from? The two bills originally started it out as one. It was Manchin’s idea to separate them so he could get bipartisan support from republicans. But this was all predicated on the assumption the two bills would be eventually passed together. It is the moderates like Manchin and Sinema who are trying to reneg on the idea of the tow bills being inextricably linked. I don’t blame the progressives for standing their ground. They know they’ll get rolled if they give up their leverage and pass BIB. They are not dealing with honest brokers here.

Speaker Pelosi says the vote of BIF is today.

If there is no agreement on BBB I hope it fails.

More OT but perspective.

Looks like Koch got what he wanted and thanks to Gottheimer with his 5 Kochettes in the House along with Boris Manchin and Natasha Sinema both bills are dead.

This is where we are. You give up the leverage by sending BIB to senate and it’s over.

Whatever Leader Jayapal wants to do is okay with me. I’m taking some time off.

Good. It’s better both bills die rather than reward the plutocracy with BIF and everyone else doesn’t even get the crumbs that fall from Master’s table.

I care more about a win for Biden. If he is good with this plan, I am.

Vote already!! and if these bills fail hang around the necks of the GOP and the others who voted against it (Joe Mansion). Then campaign on that failure.

I care more about a win for the American people, not the temporary optics of a win for Biden that doesn’t really benefit Americans in a way that BBB does.

"The head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus quickly shut down Pelosi’s plan to vote Friday on an infrastructure bill without also passing the larger social benefits package that Biden has sought for months.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) said liberals are holding form to their insistence that both bills move together — a strategy they believe gives them the greatest leverage in negotiations with centrist Democrats in the Senate."

Let Pelosi bring BIF to the floor and let it go down in flames. The defeat of BIF is necessary to change the dynamic.

Also gives the MSM a cookie to play “ookie cookie” with all weekend, circle-jerkin cretins that they are.

Sigh…

Yup, and Dems in disarray is the theme of the weekend. I’m done with the lot of them. Jayapal wants to be Speaker or Minority leader in 2022. She does not have the chops for it. BTW, she is my rep. I’ve called her office. Crickets.

I have no problem with them shooting down BIF right now…even though it means the MSM will run wild with a completely inaccurate narrative with heavy overtones of DC conventional wisdom beltway brain damage “we told you so” and hippy-punching idiocy. We’re the party in power and the more left-leaning and progressive people are the vast majority of that party. People need to get the fuck on the bus or get the fuck under it. If all they care about is re-election and posturing with performative centrism, then they can GTFO and go caucus with the white Christian supremacists. I really don’t care. They can find out the hard way where that gets everyone and how much their constituents thank them for it.
