Ugh, I ended up in the same boat during the Very Bad Year. In fact it turned out that my primary practice closed without warning a day or two before I landed in the ER with a brain hemorrhage - be thankful you at least have access to medical records and someone to sign those referrals! My own doctor had left the practice earlier that year and I wasn’t crazy about her replacement for that short time, but the timing was a mess.

I hear that! I’ve been researching the bicycle market to get back into it after a long hiatus. Last winter I was almost entirely sedentary and after a certain age it’s look out below if you do that. About every twenty years that happens and I realize with a shock I’ve let myself go and need to get serious again about diet and exercise. Joe’s a pretty good advertisement for that, have to say. I’ll bet his doctors love him.

Check out this chart. There’s usually something of a dance between prodding the immune system with a boost and then giving it time for what it learned to settle in.
The difference with Covid is that we aren’t waiting for years of data to come in to tell us what the optimal dosing schedule is. Plus a lot of that depends on how high the risk of exposure is from the community, and obviously that’s been consistently pretty high for the last couple of years. One thing that is absolutely clear from the data though is that having two boosters of the Covid vaccine significantly lowers your risk of hospitalization and death.
