Do you remember that he was talked out of wearing a Superman t-shirt and ripping his shirt open also?
Environmental reporter for The Hill and (though I liked the tweet) he has too much time on his hands.
I’m not really worried about them (impeachment/25th), because it’s not going anywhere.
That said, Dems need to keep the House.
Majority Leader Jeffries > VP Harris (least right now)
Consider a pedal exerciser. I use this one myself, gets the heart rate, burns some calories, and far less expensive.
There’s nothing he won’t do to keep his name in front of us.
I especially loved that you could see him straining for breath the moment he did it. What a hero moment, eh?
I may be remembering it differently.

True and I have considered it, but I do enjoy actually being out there. I used to ride out in the country when the traffic was lighter and there was more country and I thought of my bike like it was a land sailboat on which I could go for this delightful excursion when I wanted. You’re out in the world, seeing the sights. I like to hike with other people but prefer to bicycle when I’m alone. So from a motivation standpoint it’s the better way to go for me.
I think @mattinpa wants to be out on the road, but I’ve been looking at under desk pedalers and wondering if any of them are any good, so thanks for the recommendation!
As I figured. But for me it’s a better choice. No way would I bicycle in NYC traffic. Lots do but it would give me the bends.
Just now getting around to this realization? A little slow on the draw, these folks…
Pfizered up yesterday after the prior three being Team Moderna. Basically no effects other than touch sensitivity at the injection site. I’ll take the bump for another few months of reduced risk.
Good overview of different approaches to universal vaccines in this article (easily readable, of course, it’s the New Yorker), including what you are describing although it’s in regards to the flu.
Rockland County is home to an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in which vaccination rates have historically been very low. In 2018 and 2019, Rockland County was the epicenter of a major measles outbreak that continued for nearly a year and sickened 312 people. County health officials reported at the time that only 8% of people there had been vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella before the outbreak began.
It’s here. I just read on Bloomberg that they just (as in the last 2 weeks) received their approval. Sorry, but I forgot the name of it. It’s made the old fashion way which is why it’s so late to the party.
That said…it’s important that you know exactly what’s in the vaccine that you are allergic to. The carrier, the adjuvent, or the preservatives in the new one could be the same and cause problems for you.
So from a motivation standpoint it’s the better way to go for me.
I agree, biking is the way I trick my body into doing exercise. Because it feels like a fun activity.
If you don’t like the people
Or the way that they talk
If you don’t like their manners
Or they way that they walk
Kill, kill, kill for peace
Kill, kill, kill for peace
I don’t find it hard at all to mask when I need to, but the thing is I can walk out my door and putter around the yard without putting one on. Since this is Texas, I pretty much have to drive anywhere I go so no need to mask during bus or subway rides or walking down a crowded sidewalk.
In fact, after my spouse was exposed at work he wore an N95 mask every minute he was in the house, even sleeping, for ten days - but at least he could eat outside and even work out there some (it’s fucking hot out there this summer).
I think about people like you who live in seriously urban environments where that’s not possible. I’m so fucking tired of the assholes being the ones to set the agenda for the rest of us by refusing to participate in collective action that could make a difference. There are a ton of diseases like measles that are still around but that I at least don’t have to worry about all the time like my grandparents did, because as a people we decided to do something about them.
I believe it’s Novavax.
@osprey too
Thanks. I live in an apartment building so opening the door means a mask. I rarely meet other people in the hallway but in the elevator that’s a different story. So a mask. All the time unless I’m in my own apartment.
I can of course take it off when I go for a walk and I’m not shopping or banking or heading to the bus or subway. But if the street is crowded, and I’m sure I don’t have to tell you many are, I leave it on. You’re never alone on streets like that, and especially not when you’re standing at a corner waiting for the walk light.
But it’s okay, really. It’s better than it was back in 2020. It’s a holiday compared to that. I mean, I complain. But in the end it’s a simple thing to wear a mask.
Actually, Novavax is currently approved only as an initial vaccine series for the still unvaxxed. It has not been approved for use as a booster and there is no indication as of yet whether it would be useful as a second booster (I had a J&J as a first booster after the Pfizers caused a bad reaction.)
