Iām kinda impressed Biden called the hand-wringers on the deficit directly on their bull, if he says it, hopefully itāll head off some of the both-siderism stupidity in the press whoād report the deficit bleatings from the GQP as sincere rather than the posturing idiocy it really is. Good on him. I really didnāt expect much other than a grown-up in charge but he seems prepared to shiv the GQP when necessary.

We have to respond to a disaster in the form of a pandemic that has given 25% of the worldās Covid deaths to a country with 4% of the population. That disaster was compounded by a previous administration that tried to give Covid to as many Americans as they possibly could.

The chattering classes are worried that Biden wants to lower the income limit for the direct payments to households and that it will be āpolitical suicideā if he does. I havnāt seen anything more about that today. I wonder where that stands? I would leave that limit alone myself to be fair, since the $1400 is really the second installment after repugs short changed the country last time. Also, what do those income limits mean when they are based on 2019 taxes? Since then, many of those upper middle class households may have suffered financial loss, even though the pandemic has disproportionately harmed the working poor and people near the bottom. If a rising tide raises all boats, itās going to include a few yachts. So be it.

Larry Summers is a supply side asshole, and made sure that the 2008 bailout took very good care of Wall Street, not so much everyone else. If Larry Summers is against it, you can be pretty sure it is good policy.

Basic errors in syntax and spelling are annoying and sloppy. When it happens consistently it tends to undercut credibility. Any word processor can fix such errors easily which makes me wonder why it keeps happening here.
