Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Friday accused President Donald Trump of being apathetic toward the economic hardships millions of Americans are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s not just Trump that doesn’t get it. It’s the entire of the GOP that doesn’t get it.
Put the blame where the blame belongs - there’ve been multiple bills passed by the House to help out that are mouldering on #ditchMoscowMitch’s desk, unaddressed by the do-nothing-but-pass-judges Senate.
“The painful truth is we just have a president that just doesn’t see it. He doesn’t feel it. He doesn’t understand,” Biden said. “He just doesn’t care.”
“He thinks that if the stock market is up, then everything’s fine. If his wealthy friends and donors are doing well, then everything is doing well,” the candidate continued.
Good for you, Joe!
The stock market’s performance is not indicative of the economic realities that most Americans face. Working Americans know this is true.
Repetition is necessary so the MSM broadcasts this message loud and clear. Every single time Trump blathers about the “great economy HE created”, Democrats should shove this fact in his face. Biden conveyed this message successfully today.
So these folks insisting Joe’s stance on abortion makes a vote for him a mortal sin: tell me what their stance is on caging kids and separating families. Pro-life or pro-birth?
It is truly refreshing to see someone point out that the Emperor has No Clothes, because so many of the news cycle rituals simply repeat two sides ad nauseam, unwittingly normalizing Trump’s pathological behavior.
Snark aside, despite the drop in the unemployment (from 10.2 percent to 8.4 percent in August), Fed has noted that there is a…
slowing job growth and increased hiring volatility, particularly in service industries, with rising instances of furloughed workers being laid off permanently as demand remained soft.”
Moreover, an unsustained pandemic aid to households and to state/local governments will weaken long term economic growth.
“I’ll be asking the American people three basic questions: Who can handle the pandemic? Who can keep their promises? And who cares about, and will fight for, working families?” Biden said.
G-Damn right. Just going to your job shouldn’t have to be life and death and it should have never gotten to this point.
I don’t like to get too personal here but I work at one of the big state universities in Iowa, and even with the precautions I take, every day I feel so at risk and afraid of catching covid from a co-worker, a student, a surface. And if–when-- the numbers get so scary that they’re forced to close up and go online completely, a lot of jobs like mine will be furloughed, totally eliminated, who knows. It’s Catch 22 except without the ironic humor. It feels like I’m in a dark maze with no way out.
Against that backdrop, seeing Biden on the offense makes me want to fist-punch the air. He’s ready to fight for my life. That is in no way an exaggeration. This is life and death.
I’m upset with the concept of any religion calling anything a mortal sin that has nothing to do with the concept.
If we think the Evangelicals are the only ones that listen to their church leaders, we are mistaken. Listening to priests pre-dates all this other nonsense.
Ok - for all my kvetching about losing my consulting gig, I have to be honest with the community: I’ve had two new opportunities present in the last 24 hours and another one that presented last weekend.
Now none of them have even gotten to the resume submitting stage, but there’s hope on the horizon.
