Biden Says Trump ‘Just Doesn’t Care’ About Americans’ Economic Hardships Amid COVID

Oh, man - is this one of those moments where, if you’ve lost Cronkite, you’ve lost America?

Well here is one GOP Senator that doesn’t get it.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2020/09/04/senate-republican-coronavirus-bill/

The $5 billion tax credit proposal has long been championed by DeVos, and President Trump has offered his support for school choice as part of his reelection campaign. Now the measure is being pushed behind the scenes by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), who wants the proposal included in an emerging Senate GOP bill that aims to address economic fallout from the coronavirus.

Yeah let’s give tax relief to rich families, while public schools are hurting, trying to open while keeping kids and teachers safe, and state are short on tax revenue.

It eventually will - it’s just a question of whether it’s a couple of weeks or a couple of months. It’s a matter of just waiting it out (the longest I’ve gone is 4-1/2 months in the run-up to the first Gulf War).

There are so many shoes to be dropped between now and November 3rd that Imelda Marcos is looking up at us in jealousy.

She also doesn’t appreciate the constant thumps on the ceiling.

Nor the echo it creates, I’m sure.

And notice the guys dressed in black? Did they arrive by a plane?

Local Postal Service officials informed her and union leaders waiting to accompany her into the building that national USPS leadership had directed them to bar the group from the building.

Just like they blocked them seeing kids in cages until they could clean up the mess a little.

Is that why I keep seeing just one shoe on the side of the road? More now than in the past.

@rucleare’s preferred drop box. Nobody picks up a dirty old shoe and discovers the roll of microfilm or the wad of $100 bills.

Pretty clever idea of his, IMHO.

OT sort of, from another Atlantic article today:
The weeks after the election could be “a very dangerous period” for the country, says Miles Taylor, a former senior official in the Homeland Security Department, whose agents were deployed to quell recent police-violence protests in Portland, Oregon, against the wishes of the state’s leadership. Taylor left the agency last year and has since emerged as an outspoken critic of the president. “I talk to law-enforcement officials all the time who I used to serve with, and they’re nervous about November and December,” he continued. “We’re seeing an historic spike in gun sales. There’s some of the worst polarization in United States history. This is beyond a powder keg. This is the Titanic with powder kegs filled all the way to the hull.”

Goddamn this man and his supporters.

Yeah what do they think the USPS is - the border with kids in cages? That’s the last time I saw the government do this.
