Biden Heads To Hill Before Leaving For Europe | Talking Points Memo

Yeah they really need to have something under the Christmas tree come 2022 or they’ll lose their majorities in both houses for all the right reasons. If it isn’t a decent version of BIF+BBB (and this is looking less likely by the minute) they’d damn well better make sure their savaging the GQP over 1/6 is dominating the headlines in 2022.

$3 trillion to fund just the Duggar family and the Mormons.

Could have cut it in half if they capped the child credits after the first two puppies.

Here in GA wages are increasing significantly. An acquittance of mine is paying $22 hr. for digging and burying pipe, no experience, no GED, no English, hell no work permit required.

I can do that and I have experience!

Woah, at least Democrats are making an honest good faith effort to help folks out. The GQP won’t do jack shit. That’s the big difference. If we can MAKE IT CLEAR the people who are doing everything possible to sabotage the process we might gain a few more seats next time. The public needs to understand why some things aren’t working out for them. It’s not our party who’s trying to fuck things up.

We are incentivising the root cause of AGW, overpopulation, while trying to mitigate and slow down it’s damaging effect.
We are at cross purposes. It’s crazy.

I just find it ironically amusing that the environmentalists and planet-savers didn’t think through that their original platform would make it legitimately possible to make a living having a stable of kids.

The entire Dem caucus needs to rally around this and get it done. It is not perfect but it is a start. Tout it as pro-family, family friendly etc. and contrast it with the Republicans record of legislation -tax cuts for the rich. Then go about increasing our majorities in the House and Senate. It is doable.

If this happens, my hat’s off to Biden. He’s taking heat and the press is circling like sharks, but there’s nobody who could have done better.

There were 2.6 million total votes cast in the 2017 VA gubernatorial election. To already be at nearly 800,000 with six days left to vote is pretty damn amazing. I just want MacAuliffe to win, but it would really be something if he won by more than 5%. It would absolutely rock the political world.

Dems don’t suck at messaging as much as Dems have to message to an extremely diverse set of voters. Republicans basically have one audience-white, RW Christians. It’s a lot easier to message to a single demographic of voters than it is to message to all voters. Plus, Dem voters want their representatives to get shit done while Republican voters almost exclusively want their reps to stop progress from happening.

Yes, that’s the key. What a bitch.

Uninsured people are mostly not registered to vote, and even most of those who are registered don’t bother to turn out. Those who do turn out to vote tend to vote Dem. Oh, and there are also a lot of uninsured people who aren’t even eligible to vote, such as minors, non-citizens, and felons. But sure, go right on ahead feeling superior to all those uninsured people because they live in red states that don’t feel the same way about government assistance as you ostensibly do. Any other federal assistance programs you’d like to eliminate based on local electoral voting preferences? Why not break it down at the congressional district level, or precinct-by-precinct?

The cruelty is your point.

WaPo said - “But the party’s liberal bloc ultimately had no choice but to scale back some of its ambitions to assuage two moderate holdouts, Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Joe Manchin III (http://d-w.va/.)

Everyone needs to stop saying these 2 and only 2 Senators are moderates. They are not! They are not Democrats. No one should forget these 2 have lied, delayed and moved the goal posts and ensure they are serving their last term in the Senate.

It sure would. I can’t imagine what FOX News would do to counter that.

It’s not cruelty. It’s equality.

Why should they get a better deal than someone in a blue state?

That’s not correct at all.

No, it’s cruelty. Equality is where everybody gets treated the same.

Well, equality is on the table. All their state has to do is accept the Medicaid expansion under the ACA.

You say that like it’s a bad thing. Someone had to kill off all the Mayans, Aztecs and Native Americans. It’s not like we could have depended on the Jews to do it.

And fuck all of those asshole uninsureds who live in states that didn’t, right?

Your cruelty is the point.
