Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign zeroed in on the New York Times’ blockbuster report on President Donald Trump’s elusive federal tax returns on Sunday night.
You have to wonder if this will, in any way, chip away at Trump’s cult following. I’d like to think it would, but I’m not very hopeful. Still, if event 1-2% of his flock abandoned him over this it would be fantastic. We’ll see.
And once again, this news will not dissuade the Trump Cultists. To them, this just proves Trump is a savvy businessman. Trump Cultists don’t want to pay taxes either. “Don’t tread on me”, don’t cha know.
I think it’s time to revisit all the average Joe workers, contractors and small businesses that he screwed over.
ETA: a series of people talking about how 'he" drive them to bankruptcy because he didn’t pay them, at the end of each spot, it is revealed the “he” is donnie.
I watched the local Sinclair station last evening. They ended the story about Trump’s taxes by sayin g he paid social security taxes, and sales taxes and alternative minimum taxes, like everybody else. My guess is he didn’t pay alternative minimum tax since that is really an alternative income tax calculation, but the other taxes we all pay.
What people see on the local Sinclair station is what people remember. News you can trust.
Were this anyone else, it would be worth wondering. But a cult follower will follow its leader through the gates of the seventh ring of hell before admitting they were wrong about their leader. I expect nothing will come of this with the cult.
Undecideds on the other hand, coupled with the perversion of propriety with Ginsburg’s passing, could very well gain clarity on their position from the events of the last week.
They will continue to say they support him, and of course many will, but I’m betting many are pretty angry about this.
I love the “IRS does not treat me well” line, because since they didn’t treat him well, no wonder he didn’t pay any taxes. And they treat everybody else so well, so much better than him. Always about his pathetic, glass ego.
