Democratic president candidate Joe Biden called on President Donald Trump to step down on Thursday night over his bungled handling of COVID-19, including his misleading comments on the pandemic.
Wow, interesting play. Should make for a fascinating response.
He’s trying to get papers to call for Trump to resign
“You’ve got to level with the American people, shoot from the shoulder,” Biden said on Thursday. “There’s never been a time they have not been able to step up. This president should step down.”

Step down? I would settle for this:
He stumbled ever so slightly here and there, but ultimately a good, impassioned, from the heart performance – and an excellent crescendo leading to the American people’s ability to step up, and “This president should step down.” It built like a dramatic monologue. He’s getting better and better.
And this tag line is going to develop legs.
You’ve gotta know it’s a big step when TPM has a headline on something Biden said. This is obviously going to get the world talking. A page out of Trump’s handbook almost.

Even that most quotable passage was phrased awkwardly – a double negative, using thirteen words instead of the right four – but we knew this would happen. He’s Joseph Robinette Biden, not Pericles.
Works for me. But regarding pandemic response, I am not sure Q-Tip would be an improvement.

On another note, another article says that for Joe to really get under Trump’s skin, during the debate, insist on calling him “Donald”. Apparently, that really irks the guy. For those who say ‘Mr. President’ is the only proper naming, first, this is no time to stand on ceremony and, second, it’s supposed to be a conversation.
Let’s face it: Trump hasn’t earned that title, even considering the election where he received fewer votes. So I guess there’s something to it, no?

This sounds silly to me. Better Biden should be saying Trump’s not fit, etc., etc. and I should win.
We need more people like Pence’s staff member to start getting serious about outing Trump.

Perhaps mockingly addressing him as ‘sir’, with the proper inflection.
“Oh, sir, do tell us about your very strong plan to make America great again again.”
They always say stuff like that. No news in that. But this is incendiary. In the world Trump has created for us, why not?
I don’t say it should become a hobby horse for Biden to ride, but I’m interested to see how this reechoes round the media. It says the quiet part out loud. It’s a very provocative play.
