President Biden on Monday echoed CDC Director Rochelle Walensky’s recurring sense of an “impending doom” as he urged governors and mayors to maintain or reinstate mask-wearing mandates amid a 10% increase of COVID-19 infections over the past week compared to the previous week.

No, we have to let them continue to risk others’ health. I mean, we shouldn’t even tell them they can’t pee in the swimming pool.
If the moronic governors in the red states would just hold off opening up for two more months, the vaccination rate will be high enough to basically bring it under control. The Republican politicians and right wing media are still playing politics with COVID and I think part of it is that they want Biden’s efforts to control it to fail.

I have never been so glad to live in New England, Maine in particular. Our case count is rising , because of knuckleheaded young folks and trumpie anti maskers. But compared to the afore mentioned states, we have leadership.
Flippin’ through the channels Fox had some woman on chastising the CDC director and Biden. Saying things like “Americans know what to do to keep safe, but it’s beyond time that we go out and live our lives”. I was WTF with this? At no point since 02/20 has a nation full of Fox News watching, Trump adoring folk ever done anything to keep themselves safe. And because they can’t follow CDC guidance we have hundreds of thousands dead that could still be alive. And some of those people were essential workers.
These people are crazy. I’m fully vaccinated and surrounded by friends who are fully vaccinated as well. But I fully expect that things still won’t be anything like normal for a long time to come. If these idiots just keep going along their own wrongheaded ways, it will be even longer.
At least the lack of masks will make the moron horde easier to avoid until all sane people are vaccinated.

I had an errand in Home Depot today. I got about 10 feet in the door and noted a half dozen folks not wearing masks wandering about. Several more had their masks covering their chins quite effectively. I told the nearest employee that I saw no reason at all to spend any money in that business now or in the future and that I’d tell all I know to not go their because it’s too goddamned dangerous.
