Bernie Sanders Accuses WaPo Of Bias Over Amazon Criticism

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) ripped a page from President Trump’s playbook on Monday during two consecutive town halls, in which he jabbed the Washington Post for what he claimed was unfair coverage.

Bernie cannot fail, he can only be failed. Bernie cannot lose, he can only have his rightful win taken from him.

Big sad when you realize your time has passed and again you’ll be watching this one from the sidelines.

Trump speaks English. So do I. We have something in common.

This is clickbait and the only reason I am letting myself get reeled in is because this is a distorting piece. I am not particularly fond of Sanders…but this story highlights why we need a citizenry less abused by talking points and click-bait and more on substantive study of issues.

Trump doesn’t like WAPO because of what it says about him, so he grabs on to another issue he can use to hide his original motivation.

Personally, I don’t like Amazon because it will eventually kill the idea of going shopping (that and mass shooters)** And because it should pay more taxes. Does this make me Trump?

Clever writers can make Allies of any two individuals

** Does this make Bezos the equal of mass shooters?

“Democrats for billionaires” is a losing coalition.

The link on the front page of TPM is absurd. Is one allowed to question the fairness of media coverage without being equated with Donald Trump? This is the type of logic that only convinces people already beholden to it.

Sorry, but the Post and the Times consistently publish slanted stories to portray Sanders in a negative light. Just like TPM is doing here.

If you want to lose again, keep up with the b.s. TPM was consistently anti-Sanders in 2016, and Josh apparently cannot escape his Princeton background and get beyond that kind of Ivy League liberalism it cultivates. But there’s a big country out there, and defining the Democratic base so narrowly as to exclude Sanders supporters is going to lose the election.

How about evaluating Sanders’ criticism on its merits, rather than just making a knee-jerk Trump comparison?

This is the polite version of this comment.

TPM,

Sanders is an independent from Vermont, not a Democrat.

Um, no?

How about looking at the man like a respectable adult for a change? Your drowning in propaganda.

This is the kind of immature attitude that is going to alienate Sanders’ supporters, fracture the party, and lose the election.

Keep in mind that you’re rallying to protect Jeff Bezos, exploiter of the poor, man who pays no taxes, and all-around self-interested billionaire. That’s you’d prefer rallying to Bezos over Sanders is positively bizarre to me, and certainly doesn’t represent the traditional role of the Democratic Party to protect the needs of the disadvantaged.

if there were any merits to be found Josh would have but he simply can not manufacture what isn’t there.

Hilarious response. Josh didn’t even look.

No Sanders doubter could say anything more insulting about Sanders supporters than Sanders supporters say about themselves.

The political guerrilla war tactics are back in full force it would seem. This was a sharp change in rhetoric from prior weeks, similar to the bunker mentality mode he had in April-May of 2016.

The difference is that IA voters are thinking pragmatically this year and aren’t as focused on the ‘revolution’. I think you’ll see Warren also hit a ceiling b/c ‘structural change’ doesn’t quite align with what voters want to see. Bernie may be running into the same issues in NH.

I do have one question for ‘electability’ voters. Biden is certainly getting a lot of mileage on perceived electability over Trump. However, Bernie’s numbers are just as strong in H2H polling. Why is that not a bigger factor for him?

He’s a quadrennial Democrat; a Democrat of convenience, if you will.

I hold no brief for Jeff Bezos. I love Warren and think she’d be a great president. I want to see billionaires taxed. I also think Sanders is a seriously flawed candidate and not that great of a person either. Is your MIND BLOWN MAN? Or am I just testing your sorely tried politeness? I happen to think some of your premises aren’t quite as self-evidently true as you think. It has nothing to do with any supposed “rallying” for Bezos.

Yep. For his 2024 Senate campaign, he’s filed as an independent.

I think we were told yesterday or the day before there’s no such thing as a Bernie Bro, the Clintons made that up.
