Arizona GOPer Compares Not Letting Legislature Throw Out Election Results To Lynching

It was not a Democrat, but a fellow Republican who put an end to this bill. That’s how outrageous it was considering there are very few “reforms” they don’t support.

Lynching a vote…
Is that similar to hanging a chad?

I see what he’s saying. A procedural maneuver that dooms a proposed bill is identical to a lynching in that he prefers it not happen to him. It’s like if you want some risotto con funghi so you go to a restaurant and ask for a table and they ask for your vaccination card and you say you didn’t feel like it and they way well, no risotto for you. There you are on the sidewalk, and there they are, inside, eating risotto, and they’ve singled you out for no risotto and that’s basically the Holocaust.

Also, old men like that always reference the good old days as when they got multiple boners every day. This guy likely approves of lynching and white privilege, too.

Saying racist stuff is the old-white-man-style boner.

“Bowers’ order for all 12 committees to take up the bill is unprecedented and will almost certainly doom the legislation.”

Trump will just have to task the Proud Boys with paying Bowers a visit.

I think that he meant 1858-style voting.

Very true, aging can provoke a sense of general decline, so to speak. But I think this guy was probably a racist and authoritarian in his boner years, too.

If lawmakers decide to toss out the results, “any qualified elector” could then ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hold a new election

Huh. I had no idea the US Supreme Court administered elections.

That must be some fabulous risotto to reach that level of comparison.

I mean, way beyond missing the bus or your team losing the Super Bowl.

It’s the kind of voting where black men don’t become president.

Electing a black man is racist.

Lucky you! (sigh)

Ok, that is the equivalent to saying “up is down” and mean exactly that, as lynchings are crimes and letting voters decide elections, not partisan legislatures, is a virtue and written into our laws.

No big deal, except that almost all in the Republicans would nod their head in agreement to this GOPer.

If we just kept the wrong kind from voting, we could make America great again.

What the hell is 1958 voting?

Sounds like only on paper and whites only?

He seems nice.

If we kept the wrong kind out of this country, there would be no need for lynching.

Look, I don’t want to appear to be advocating for violence against an elected official, but… maybe if we dragged his ass behind a car for a bit, and then tied him to a tree and beat him just a little, he’d be able to see the difference between lynching and accepting the outcome of an election.
