Are citizens supposed to be cognizant of the existence of defamation laws when they speak? Do defamation laws constitute a form of prior restraint on speech? Can you defame someone and use as your defense in court you didn’t know defamation was a tort? Does being opposed to defamation mean you’re opposed to the 1st Amendment?
They say that no one did more for minorities, and people under the age of 25 than TFG. It was bigly amazing all of the accomplishments. What with the infrastructure weeks, and…uh, uhm.
But Biden didn’t get all of the student loans cancelled, didn’t send me a text message to tell me I should feel better about the economy, and didn’t get a federal abortion law passed.
Gee, shouldn’t the New York Times practice what it preaches?
Nope. Too busy with the “Both Sides Do It” BS…
How about a midge or gnat, buzzing furiously and trapped by the hairs lining his ear canal?
The SCOTUS made it quite clear in their reversal of Bob McDonnell’s convictions for corruption that they don’t consider gift giving bribery or corruption. This was a unanimous decision made back when RBG was still with us. It shocked me then and it still shocks me now because the facts in McDonnell’s case were examples of blatant purchase of government condoned favors.
But the other side is this: Not that it would do anything to alleviate the greed of a Thomas, Scalia or Alito, but SCOTUS justices should probably make more money than they currently do. This is probably largely true across the board in government. As an example, Arizona legislators get $24,000 per year and haven’t received a raise since 1998. This is how you get independently wealthy hacks holding down many of these offices while qualified people have to look for work that actually pays a living wage.
The question I keep having is, why is a (former US) attorney behaving like this?
DC really is a swamp.
Theirs is the superior intellectual flexibility.
Clarence wanted to keep up with the Joneses! He had status without finances. He was for sale & let it be known.
Its not always about the immediate money…ole RUDY is shackled to these women, for the rest of his unnatural life; he has been publicly exposed for the piece of s— he is…again. the Black Women beat him.
OMG well they could never be wrong, op-ed accusing Biden of doing the same thing.
*“This is the Wall Street Journal.
The interview began with Cheney repeating her warning that Trump returning to the White House is a grave threat to American democracy as he vows to run roughshod over the rule of law in the country. Baier then quoted from a recent,* This is not a MAGA, you know, op-ed here. And they say, ‘Trump as dictator is a classic case of projection.’”
After Baier finished reading the full quote, Cheney replied, “Well, I think they’re wrong.”
“I think if you, again, if you look at, we don’t have to guess about what next President Trump would do, because he did it before,” she added, arguing a second Trump term will be untethered from the guardrails that prevented his worst impulses the first time around.
OMG he canceled student debt
“Right. But what about the point it made in this op-ed, specifically and I understand what you’re saying about the former president, what you feel about what would happen, but you haven’t been but you haven’t been vocal about President Biden’s executive orders to cancel student loans,” Baier said as Cheney interjected they are “very different.”
“Stop making him talk shit about me going forward” is not a thing under the First Amendment.* You can get redress for past lies, but not the ones that might or might not happen further in the time continuum.
*Slight exception for child custody orders.
The New York Times just wants to get in good with Trump. They’ll gladly become his Völkischer Beobachter and in return Trump will continue to endlessly trash them even as they double down praising him.
Unfortunately, she put party before country and put GWBush in office as well. May she rot in flames.
Could be worse, could be built over a near-surface magma chamber. The Mid Atlantic Ridge was never a viable contender for the Nation’s Capital, but I would have been chuffed over it.
And the rest of us, too.
Who needs fucking detail?
Unless they filed on the 11th of December or before the deadline to be on the March Primary ballot for both parties has past in Texas.
Has any smart and energetic Republican in the Great State of Texas decided to run in the Primary against RINO Congressman Chip Roy. For the right person, he is very beatable. If interested, let me know!!!
Ohio Republicans douse selves in gasoline, fumbling for the matchbook.
Please proceed.
