Originally published at: Another GOPer Calls Out Trump’s ‘Pocket Rescissions’ Gambit For What It Is
The other Republican who sometimes counters President Trump — and then still votes for things that advance his agenda, like the sweeping Medicaid cuts in Trump’s “big, beautiful” bill this summer — is slamming the White House for lawlessly withholding federal spending that’s been authorized by Congress. In a tweet, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who…
Kafka doesn’t want Democrats to participate in the appropriations process if it’s just going to be a sham. Do not negotiate with bad faith actors.
Agreed
Still not buying the no big deal on his quiet time this last few days. Lot of reasons to say it, but right now it would come off as petty and stretching.
The real thing to watch, how busy is he over the few days including his posting.
Nice…
Imagine the wild turn of events if Donald Trump fucking dies before Joe Biden. The giant freak out about Joe’s age and then kersplat, Trump (God willing) does not even survive a year in office.
He’s getting old. We’re going to see this more and more. They will be better at faking it next time. There is a significant reason, as Josh implied in his blog the other day, for Trump to be kept around at least through the midterms. His name carries power. One thing Josh didn’t mention is that if Trump leaves office after January 20th, 2027, then JD Vance, If he was reelected, could be reelected again, possibly serving 10 years.
They collapse without him.
If something significant happened without notice, it will happen again.
“The ball will be in their corner”
Johnson can’t even get his metaphors straight.
Trump kinda makes me hope there really is a heaven and a hell.
The Project 2025 cabal, Russell Vought and the OMB want to test the idea of pocket rescission in court. It won’t be resolved for this fall’s round of negotiations, and doesn’t need to be. It’s a sideshow.
“Hey, Mom, I hit a touchdown today!” lied little Mikey.
Sooo… Murkowski and Collins are pulling a Murkowski & Collins, then? So very concerned, as long as it means nothing?
already forgotten - and will continue to be forgotten by the legacy media as they print paeans to his ‘out of the box’ ‘maverick’ ‘disrutpive’ ‘individual style’ wonderfulness and the profound effect he had on this country etc. etc.
Fine, he’s alive. That does not mean he’s not rotting.
pocket rescissions as a loophole
According to the Republican Party, the Constitution of the United States was created to be a loophole generator, freeware for politicians to manipulate masses of people with the least hassle.
Republicans ignore the spirit of America’s laws and values, a sure sign that they pay no homage to any religion or the ideal of e pluribus unum.
A critical point that needs to be explained simply and repetitively. We need to stop letting Republicans solely, define all of us.
nice one, 50
Asked whether Republicans would agree to Democrats’ demands to roll back spending cuts to health care programs contained in the GOP megabill as a way to bring Democrats to the table, Johnson said, “no.”
SPEAKER INSURRECTION JOHNSON: “I absolutely refuse to engage in any of what in normal times would be considered political negotiation and trade-offs. Also, any government shutdown is 100% the fault of the minority party, the Dems.”
THE MEDIA: (scribble)
At minimum, hell.
