An Inside Look At How Trump Scrubbed Obamacare From HHS Websites | Talking Points Memo

There was no better symbol of the Trump administration’s plans for sabotaging the Affordable Care Act than how, soon after the inauguration, its Department of Health and Human Services prioritized erasing mentions of the law on its web page.

The fact they didn’t drown it in the bathtub when they controlled congress speaks volumes about their blowing and sucking.

Bad faith actors.

And hatred of the political Left, something the Right also whines incessantly about.

We know rump despises Obama and the ACA, but it’s hard to imagine this dope ordering this. Approving it? Yes, but I don’t think he’s smart enough to have ordered this. One of his flunkies suggested it. He consented.

OT and hell yes

One of his flunkies that was guided by the health insurance industry, perhaps. They are experts at obscuring coverage.

People died because of this.

If you think you can’t get insured, you don’t get insured. Then, once you are uninsured, you delay or avoid getting necessary care.

People died because of Trump rolling back patient protections, environmental protections, and the Iran nuclear agreement, and rejecting the results of the 2020 election.

He has much blood on his hands.

I could see Trump ordering his flunkies to erase any mention of it.

Trump was (and is) singularly motivated by his sick and twisted instincts and insecurities.

In a sane world, this would be devastating.

The assault on the Affordable Care Act is still a no-brainer for the Dems to retain the House and pick up Senate seats at the mid-term election.

It’s so simple that the political consultant class will, in all likelihood, not hammer away at this issue in ad buys? Why, hey, if all positions are filled, then there’s less work for the human resources department, and for the political consultant class.

Savvy politicians direct their consultants, rather than let the consultants instruct them (based on what?) They should direct their consultants to simply buy ads showing how many times the various opponents voted against the ACA, with no alternative in sight, promises to the contrary notwithstanding.

The documents confirm long-held suspicions that the Trump administration ordered federal contractors to conduct an expansive keyword search for any place that the 2010 law was mentioned on the webpages of various HHS offices.

Imagine sitting in a board room filling up a white board with strategy and tactics to confuse and deprive Americans of health care rights because a misguided political tool has a vendetta against the champion of this land mark bill…there is no end to Trump’s criminality and at some point ,the totality of his irresponsible ,vindictive behavior on multiple fronts will prove to be his undoing.

Indeed, I had thought that Bannon was brought on board because of his background of media management. Not him personally, but Bannon’s staff of web flunkies. The folks attending to his own SMM. There were signs of it spreading across all .gov sites until this year. USPS showing Google AdSense ads. I always wondered whose account that RPM was going to.

It has taken 80 years, but Americans finally seem to understand that paying 12% of GDP is less than paying 18% of GDP and tolerating lots of free-riding. Universal healthcare isn’t that hard. And if you want private medicine anyway, it can happily coexist with a public system.

And that was long before the pandemic. In Venezuela, his sanctions caused thousands and thousands of deaths and sent the country on a downward spiral before the corona virus even appeared.

As many as 40,000 people may have died in Venezuela as a result of US sanctions.
